*Roblox made seven axe Limiteds between 2011 and 2015. All ranked by RAP, copies and lowest resale ask, led by the 1,001-copy Dual Monster Axes.*

Roblox made seven axe Limiteds between September 2011 and November 2015, all of them gear items published by Roblox itself, and all seven still trade today. A Limited is an item with a frozen supply: once Roblox stops selling it, the only copies that will ever exist are the ones already owned, and they change hands through player-to-player trades or Marketplace resale listings. The most valuable of the seven is the Dual Monster Axes, with a Recent Average Price (RAP) of 91,742 Robux across 1,001 copies. The thinnest is The Tormentor's Axe at 294 copies, and the cheapest way into the family is The Axe of Undoing: A Walmart Exclusive, which was handed out free with a 2012 gift card and now has a lowest resale ask of 1,530 Robux.

**Quick answer:** Roblox has seven axe Limiteds. Dual Monster Axes leads on RAP at 91,742 Robux, The Tormentor's Axe is the rarest at 294 copies, and The Axe of Undoing is the cheapest entry at a 1,530 Robux ask.

Copies, RAP and asks come from RBX Invest catalog data as of October 2026, cross-checked against Roblox's own item details for every row. RAP is an average Roblox smooths over an item's whole sale history, so it moves slowly: each new sale pulls it only one tenth of the way toward that sale price. The lowest ask is the cheapest copy a reseller currently has listed.

The whole family sits inside our [classic gear collection](/collections/classic-gear), which ranks every discontinued Roblox-made gear item live.

## What counts as a Roblox axe Limited? Seven Roblox-made gear items

Gear is Roblox's old equippable-tool category: swords, wands, rockets, and yes, axes. You carry gear in a backpack slot and it only functions inside experiences whose creator has switched gear on, which most modern experiences have not. Our [gear Limiteds guide](/articles/roblox-gear-limiteds-explained) covers how that works in full.

Five of the seven are Limited U items. The U means Roblox announced a fixed number of copies up front and gave every copy a serial number, so copy #1 is a different object from copy #294. The other two, the Dual Duel Axes and The Axe of Undoing, are plain Limiteds: they sold without a stated cap and had their supply frozen afterwards. If that distinction is new to you, our [Limited vs Limited U explainer](/articles/limited-vs-limited-u-roblox) walks through it.

Two of these axes already appear in other RBX Invest histories from different angles. Overseer's Axe belongs to the sixteen-item [Overseer series](/articles/overseer-series-history-roblox), and both 2015 axes show up among Roblox's [monster-themed Limiteds](/articles/monster-limiteds-history-roblox). This piece is the first time the axe class gets ranked as its own family.

## Which Roblox axe Limited is worth the most? Dual Monster Axes, at 91,742 RAP

![Dual Monster Axes](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/315617026?size=420)

Roblox published the Dual Monster Axes on October 30, 2015, one day before Halloween, at 250 Robux. Its catalog description promised 12 to 17 damage on a slash and 25 on a double slash. Roblox's records show 1,001 copies in existence, and the Roblox Wiki's community-maintained entry notes an announced stock of 1,000, so one extra copy appears to have been minted somewhere along the way.

The return on that 250-Robux launch price is the striking part. The cheapest copy currently listed asks 85,000 Robux, roughly 340 times what a buyer paid on release day. Very few 2015 gear items have done anything like that, and it is why this axe turns up in our list of [Limiteds with the biggest gains since release](/articles/roblox-limiteds-biggest-gains-since-release).

RAP at 91,742 against an 85,000 ask tells you something useful about liquidity: the asking price sits slightly below the average sale price, which happens when a holder wants out and prices under the trend. For an item this expensive, a gap that small is a sign of a market that actually clears.

## Why does The Tormentor's Axe ask 100,000 with a RAP of 29,814?

![The Tormentor's Axe](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/61459718?size=420)

The Tormentor's Axe went up in September 2011 at 2,000 Robux, a serious price for 2011, and Roblox records 294 copies today. The Roblox Wiki documents an announced stock of 300, which would mean a handful of copies were never minted or have since been removed with their owners' accounts.

That 294-copy float (the number of copies actually out there and able to be sold) is the smallest in the family by a wide margin, and it explains the gap between the two price columns. RAP only updates when a sale happens. With fewer than three hundred copies spread across holders who mostly collect and rarely flip, real sales are rare, so the 29,814 RAP figure reflects trades that may be months or years old. The holders who are listed right now want 100,000, more than three times RAP.

That pattern shows up across thin markets, and it is worth understanding before you treat RAP as a price tag. A low RAP on a 294-copy item is a record of old sales. Anyone actually trying to buy one pays what current holders ask. Our guide to [why Roblox Limited prices run higher than RAP](/articles/why-roblox-limited-prices-are-higher-than-rap) goes deeper on the mechanics.

## The 2013 pair: Grim Axe and Overseer's Axe

Grim Axe arrived on February 21, 2013 at 500 Robux and one of the more memorable gear functions Roblox ever shipped. Its catalog description promises that it beheads enemies and leaves them walking around headless, and community documentation on the Roblox Wiki adds the detail that the severed head then explodes, killing anyone nearby including the person who swung the axe. 999 copies exist.

Overseer's Axe followed on August 23, 2013 at 550 Robux with a 1,000-copy print (print being collector shorthand for the number of copies minted). It belongs to the Overseer faction line, the black-eyed villain items Roblox built out across 2012 to 2018, and its catalog description sold it as the Overseer's one dependable weapon, complete with a laser-beam orb.

These two are the most liquid axes in the family, and the numbers show why. Grim Axe has a RAP of 13,411 against a 13,490 ask. Overseer's Axe has a RAP of 15,389 against a 14,999 ask. Both sit within a few hundred Robux of their averages, which means sales happen often enough to keep RAP current. If you want an axe Limited and you want to be confident about what it costs, these are the two where the screen price and the real price agree.

## What the 2015 and 2012 oddities say about supply

Dual Axe Monsters launched on November 14, 2015, two weeks after Dual Monster Axes, also at 250 Robux, with near-identical naming and a thrown-axe animation from two little monsters that follow you around. It has 1,251 copies and a RAP of 5,620, about one sixteenth of its almost-namesake. The lesson in that pair is that supply and timing do most of the work. The Halloween-week release with the tighter print became a 90,000-Robux item; the follow-up two weeks later with 250 more copies sits under 7,000.

Knights of the Seventh Sanctum : Dual Duel Axes is the family's timed release. Roblox sold it from January 13 to January 20, 2012 at 1,000 Robux, then froze supply at whatever had sold, which came to 2,048 copies. A one-week window sounds scarce, but a week at a reachable price in 2012 was long enough to mint more copies than any other axe here except the gift card item, and its RAP of 2,668 reflects that.

### How did The Axe of Undoing become a Limited?

![The Axe of Undoing: A Walmart Exclusive](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/73799348?size=420)

The Axe of Undoing: A Walmart Exclusive was never sold for Robux at all. Through March 2012, redeeming a Roblox game card bought at Walmart granted it free, which is why its launch price shows as a gift card in the table above. Community records on the Roblox Wiki date its switch to Limited status to December 4, 2015, freezing supply at the 6,933 copies Roblox now counts. It carries the lowest RAP and the lowest ask of the seven, at 1,422 and 1,530 Robux, which makes it the obvious starter axe for a collection. Our [gift card items guide](/articles/roblox-gift-card-items-guide) covers the wider family of retailer exclusives that followed the same path.

## Is the Back Axe Guitar an axe Limited? No, and 339,861 copies exist

![Back Axe Guitar](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/1230404580?size=420)

Search the catalog for axes and the [Back Axe Guitar](/item/1230404580) comes up, because axe is old musician slang for a guitar. It is a back accessory, Roblox published it in December 2017 at 250 Robux, and 339,861 copies exist, by far the largest print discussed here. RAP sits at 584 Robux with a 647 ask. Our catalog records 160,033 favorites on it, which tells you how many players picked one up as a cheap cosmetic.

## What drives the premium on axe Limiteds

Three things separate the top of this table from the bottom.

Print size does most of it. Leave the top two aside and the RAP ranking runs in step with copy counts: Overseer's Axe and Grim Axe at about 1,000 copies each, Dual Axe Monsters at 1,251, the Dual Duel Axes at 2,048, and the 6,933-copy Walmart axe last. Dual Monster Axes breaks the pattern by outranking the 294-copy Tormentor's Axe, and sale frequency is the reason: it changes hands often enough for RAP to stay current, while the Tormentor's rarely does.

Gear status cuts both ways. Gear axes cannot be equipped in most experiences any more, so demand comes from collectors who want the item sitting in an inventory. That caps the buyer pool and makes these markets thinner than a hat market of similar size. It also means the family is insulated from avatar fashion cycles, which is part of why the 2013 axes trade so close to their averages.

Theme carries real weight. Halloween-adjacent horror gear has a durable collector following on Roblox, the same following that supports the [scythe and reaper Limiteds](/articles/scythe-reaper-limiteds-history-roblox). Four of these seven carry a Horror genre tag in the Roblox Wiki's catalog entries, and all four sit in the top five by RAP.

## Collector's outlook

The seven axes split cleanly into three buys. Grim Axe and Overseer's Axe are the honest middle of the family, both around 13,000 to 15,000 Robux with asks that track RAP, both with prints right at the 1,000 mark, and both easy to sell again because sales actually happen. The Axe of Undoing at about 1,530 Robux is a cheap way to own a piece of the 2012 gift card era. Dual Monster Axes and The Tormentor's Axe are gem territory (a gem being a scarce, high-value Limited that trades well above the ordinary bands), and they come with gem problems: an 85,000 or 100,000 Robux outlay, and a wait for the right counterparty when you want out.

Before you plan any resale, run the fee math. Reselling a classic Limited costs a 30% marketplace fee, so you keep 70% of the sale price. Sell an Overseer's Axe at 15,000 Robux and you receive 10,500. To break even on a copy you bought at 15,000, you need to sell near 21,500, about 1.43 times your cost. Reselling also requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account, trading requires it on both sides, and a classic Limited carries a 7-day hold after a resale purchase and a 2-day hold after a trade before you can move it on.

Watch the two thin ones on our [items leaderboard](/items-leaderboard) if you are hunting a mispriced copy, and check the [Deals feed](/deals), which needs a signed-in account, for listings that drop under the usual floor. None of this is financial advice. Gear Limiteds this thin can sit unsold for months, and a 100,000-Robux ask is only worth what someone eventually pays.

Item data in this article comes from RBX Invest catalog records as of October 2026, cross-checked item by item against Roblox's own item details endpoint; release dates, launch prices and announced stock figures come from Roblox's catalog data and the community-maintained Roblox Wiki, and fee and holding-period rules come from Roblox's Marketplace documentation at [create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace](https://create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace).

## FAQ

### How many axe Limiteds has Roblox made?

Seven, all published by Roblox between September 2011 and November 2015: The Tormentor's Axe, Knights of the Seventh Sanctum : Dual Duel Axes, The Axe of Undoing: A Walmart Exclusive, Grim Axe, Overseer's Axe, Dual Monster Axes, and Dual Axe Monsters. All seven are gear items.

### What is the most valuable Roblox axe?

Dual Monster Axes, with a RAP of 91,742 Robux and a lowest resale ask of 85,000 Robux as of October 2026. It launched at 250 Robux on October 30, 2015, so the cheapest listed copy now asks roughly 340 times its release price.

### What is the rarest Roblox axe Limited?

The Tormentor's Axe, with 294 copies in existence. The Roblox Wiki records an announced stock of 300 at its September 2011 release, and Roblox's own item data shows 294 today, the smallest float of any axe Limited.

### Why is The Tormentor's Axe listed at 100,000 Robux when its RAP is 29,814?

Because RAP records past sales and the ask records what holders want now. With only 294 copies, sales are infrequent, so RAP lags badly behind current asking prices. Buying one means paying close to the ask.

### Which axe Limited is cheapest to buy?

The Axe of Undoing: A Walmart Exclusive, at a 1,530 Robux lowest ask and a 1,422 RAP. It was given away free with Walmart Roblox game cards in March 2012 and went Limited in December 2015, with 6,933 copies redeemed.

### Can you still use axe gear in Roblox experiences?

Only in experiences whose creator has enabled gear, which most modern experiences have not. Axe Limiteds are mainly collector items now, which is why their value tracks copy counts and collector interest.

### Can you trade axe Limiteds?

Yes. All seven are Roblox-created classic Limiteds, so they work in the player-to-player Trade system, which needs an active Roblox Plus subscription on both accounts. A classic Limited has a 2-day hold after a trade and a 7-day hold after a resale purchase.

### How much do you keep when you resell an axe Limited?

70% of the sale price. Classic Limited resales carry a 30% marketplace fee, so a 15,000 Robux sale pays out 10,500 Robux. Breaking even on a resale means selling at about 1.43 times what you paid.
