*You can't refund a Roblox Limited. Roblox never returns Robux after a purchase, so reselling after the holding period is the only way to get Robux back.*

You cannot refund a Roblox Limited. Roblox's support pages state that there is no way to get Robux back once a purchase has gone through, and that covers accidental buys, items you stopped liking and items you remove from your inventory. A Limited is a collectible avatar item that other players can buy from you after it leaves the shop, so the only route back to Robux is selling the item yourself once its holding period ends. The marketplace fee takes a share of that sale, which means a classic Limited, the kind Roblox made itself, has to resell for roughly 1.43 times what you paid before you are even. A UGC Limited, one published by a community creator, has to resell for 2 times.

**Quick answer:** Roblox does not refund Limiteds, and deleting one does not return your Robux. Reselling after the holding period is the only way to get Robux back, and you keep 70% of a classic Limited sale or 50% of a UGC Limited sale.

| Situation | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| You bought a Limited by mistake | No refund. Roblox's help pages call purchases final, including accidental ones. |
| You deleted the item or never wore it | No Robux back. The help page covers lost and unused items too. |
| You listed a copy too cheap and it sold | The sale stands. Roblox says it cannot reverse the sale or return the item. |
| Roblox moderates or removes an item you own | May not be eligible for a refund, per the same help page. |
| Someone spent real money on your card without permission | That is a billing case, handled by Roblox support, separate from item refunds. |
| You want your Robux back anyway | Resell the copy after its holding period and keep 70% (classic) or 50% (UGC). |

## Can you refund a Roblox Limited? No, and deleting it will not return your Robux

[Roblox's help article on getting Robux back](https://en.help.roblox.com/hc/en-us/articles/203313290-Will-I-get-my-Robux-back-if-I-delete-or-do-not-like-an-item) is blunt about it. There is no way to get Robux back once you have made a purchase, and the page lists accidental purchases and unused items as part of that rule. The same page says Roblox will not be able to refund items once you buy them.

That rule applies the same way to a 300 Robux face accessory and to a 3 million Robux hat. Limiteds have one extra wrinkle: because every copy can be resold, the value you paid did not vanish. It is sitting inside the item, and you can go get some of it back. You will just get back less than you put in, and it takes time.

Roblox does suggest two things that prevent the problem in the first place. Read the item's description on its detail page, and use the Try On feature in the Marketplace to see the item on your avatar before you spend anything. Both are free.

## Why Roblox will not reverse a Limited purchase

Every Limited purchase moves Robux to another person. On a resale, part of the price goes to the person selling the copy, part to the item's creator, and Roblox keeps a cut. Reversing that a week later would mean pulling Robux back out of several accounts, one of which may already have spent it. Roblox's answer is to make the confirmation popup the last checkpoint: you see the item, the price and the balance you will be left with, and once you click through, the trade of Robux for item is done.

Sales work the same way in the other direction. [Roblox's selling guide](https://en.help.roblox.com/hc/en-us/articles/203313260-How-to-sell-items) warns that if you set a price too low, the item may sell right away, and that it cannot reverse the sale or return the item. A slip of a zero costs real value, and support will not undo it.

## How do you get your Robux back after buying a Limited? Resell it

Reselling is the recovery route, and it has four requirements.

**An active Roblox Plus subscription.** Roblox Plus is the paid subscription that unlocks trading, reselling and publishing avatar items. The buyer of your copy needs nothing, but you need Plus to list it.

**A finished holding period.** A holding period is the window after you get an item during which you cannot resell it. Roblox describes it as up to 30 days. In practice, a copy bought from the creator at launch is locked for up to 30 days, a copy bought on the resale market for about 7 days, and a classic Limited received in a trade for 2 days. Our [guide to Roblox Limited holding periods](/articles/roblox-limited-holding-periods) walks through each case.

**A price someone will actually pay.** That usually means matching or undercutting the resale floor, which is the lowest price any copy is currently listed at. Pricing above the floor and waiting is how listings sit for months. We covered the pricing side in [why your Limited isn't selling](/articles/why-roblox-limited-not-selling).

**Patience for the payout.** Robux from a resale shows up as Pending before it becomes spendable balance. [Pending Robux after a Limited sale](/articles/pending-robux-after-limited-sale) covers that timeline.

Two regional limits are worth knowing, because they decide whether this route exists for you at all. Roblox's selling help page says users in South Korea cannot resell right now, and users in Japan can only resell Limiteds that Roblox itself created.

## What does it cost to sell a Limited you regret buying?

This is where the fee does its damage. [Roblox's marketplace documentation](https://create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace/marketplace-fees-and-commissions) sets the split on a UGC Limited resale at 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox. You keep half. On a classic Limited the marketplace fee is 30%, so you keep 70%.

Round numbers make it obvious. Spend 10,000 Robux on a classic Limited, resell it the same price a week later, and 7,000 comes back to you. To actually recover your 10,000 you need the copy to sell for about 14,300. Do the same with a UGC Limited and you get 5,000 back on a same-price sale, and you need 20,000 to break even.

Those splits look like this on four real items, using RBX Invest catalog data from September 19, 2026. RAP, or Recent Average Price, is Roblox's smoothed average of an item's sale prices, and the lowest ask is the cheapest copy listed right now.

| Item | Type | Lowest ask | RAP | Resale price to break even |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/19027209?size=150) [Perfectly Legitimate Business Hat](/item/19027209) | Classic Limited | 3,599 R$ | 4,122 R$ | about 5,140 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/20573078?size=150) [Shaggy](/item/20573078) | Classic Limited | 1,580 R$ | 1,419 R$ | about 2,260 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/71268219191625?size=150) [Nova Grunge Gemstone Sword](/item/71268219191625) | UGC Limited | 1,146 R$ | 675 R$ | 2,292 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/73399223720086?size=150) [Frozen Horns](/item/73399223720086) | UGC Limited | 3,500 R$ | 1,727 R$ | 7,000 R$ |

Look at the last row. Buy that copy of Frozen Horns at the floor and you need it to double before a sale leaves you where you started, while its RAP sits at less than half the asking price. That gap between ask and RAP is the shape of a purchase you will want undone, and no refund button is coming to fix it. More on that pattern in our explainer on [projected items](/articles/projected-items-roblox-limiteds-explained), the Limiteds whose asking prices run far ahead of what copies really trade for.

None of this is financial advice. Robux you spend on a collectible can stay stuck there for a long time, so only spend what you are happy to leave sitting in an item.

## When does Roblox actually give anything back?

Two cases are different from an ordinary regret purchase, and both are narrow.

### Moderated or removed items

If an item gets moderated or the creator pulls it from access, Roblox's help page says it may not be eligible for a refund. The wording stops at "may", and the decision sits with Roblox. We wrote up what owners have seen in [what happens to deleted Roblox Limiteds](/articles/roblox-deleted-limiteds-what-happens).

### Real money charged without permission

This one is a billing case about real money leaving a card. Roblox's unauthorized charges page describes a permissive refund policy for purchases made without the payment account owner's permission, handled by its billing team. Read the warning attached to it: contact Roblox support before disputing the charge with your bank, because once a charge is disputed Roblox cannot issue a refund through the dispute process, and accounts tied to unauthorized charges are subject to deletion. Filing a chargeback to undo an item purchase is a fast way to lose the whole account, Limiteds included.

## How to avoid the purchase you would want refunded

The habits below cost nothing and remove most regret buys.

- **Try it on first.** The Marketplace Try On button puts the item on your avatar before you pay.
- **Compare the ask to the RAP.** An asking price far above RAP means you are paying the optimistic end of the market. Every item page on RBX Invest shows both, plus the price history.
- **Check how many copies exist.** Two million copies of a 1,500 Robux hat behave very differently from 500 copies of one. Copy counts sit on the [items leaderboard](/items-leaderboard) and on each item page.
- **Shop the floor.** The signed-in [deal feed](/deals) surfaces copies listed below RAP, and [cheap Limiteds under 100 Robux](/collections/cheap-limiteds-under-100) is a low-risk place to learn how the resale market behaves before you commit real money.
- **Know the hold before you buy.** If you might want the Robux back next week, remember the copy is locked for days after purchase, and longer if you bought at launch.

Anyone building a collection should get comfortable with the idea that a purchase is permanent until someone else wants it. That single fact drives most good buying decisions in this market.

## FAQ

### Can you refund a Roblox Limited?

No. Roblox's help pages state there is no way to get Robux back after a purchase, and that includes accidental purchases. The only way to recover Robux from a Limited is to resell the copy after its holding period ends.

### Will Roblox give my Robux back if I delete the item?

No. Roblox's refund help article specifically covers deleted, lost and unused items, and the answer is the same: the Robux does not come back. Deleting a copy of a Limited also throws away the resale value you could have recovered.

### Can Roblox reverse a Limited sale if I priced it too low?

No. Roblox's selling guide says that if you set a price too low the item may sell immediately, and that Roblox cannot reverse the sale or return the item. Check the price field twice before confirming a listing.

### How long until I can resell a Limited I just bought?

Roblox describes the holding period as up to 30 days. A copy bought on the resale market unlocks in about 7 days, a copy bought from the creator at launch can be held up to 30, and a classic Limited received in a trade is locked for 2 days.

### How much of the sale price do I keep when I resell a Limited?

You keep 70% of the sale price on a classic, Roblox-made Limited and 50% on a UGC Limited, where the remaining 50% is split between the original creator, the seller or affiliate, and Roblox. Break-even resale is therefore about 1.43x your cost on a classic and 2x on a UGC Limited.

### Do I need a subscription to resell a Limited?

Yes. Reselling requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account. The person buying your copy does not need one.

### What happens if Roblox deletes or moderates an item I bought?

Roblox's help page says items that are moderated or removed from access by the creator may not be eligible for a refund. The wording leaves the decision with Roblox, so treat a refund there as possible and never guaranteed.

### Can I charge back the Robux purchase to undo buying a Limited?

Doing that risks your account. Roblox asks you to contact support before disputing a charge, says it cannot refund once a charge is disputed, and states that accounts associated with unauthorized charges are subject to deletion.
