Five Roblox-made hats built on one horror joke The Cthulhu hats are Roblox's running nod to the tentacled sea monster from H. P. Lovecraft's stories. Not many people paid it. Roblox's catalog data shows 96 copies in existence today, and the item is offsale, meaning Roblox no longer sells new copies and never will. The only way to get one is to buy a copy from an owner. That supply number is what separates it from the rest of the family. Those two details come from community records, so read them as background. ### Metal Cthulhu Minion and Cthulhu in Disguise Metal Cthulhu Minion is the second most valuable member and the most interesting of the cheap ones. 733 copies is a genuinely small print for a 2011 hat, print meaning the number of copies Roblox ever sold, and its RAP of 11,318 Robux has real sales behind it. Cthulhu in Disguise arrived on October 30, 2014, which makes it the family's only true Halloween release. Its 1,000 copies and 6,297 RAP put it in reach of a starter budget, and with its floor at 6,397 Robux the spread between RAP and the cheapest copy is tight, a sign that sellers and buyers roughly agree on the price. ### Eldritch Harbinger of the Great Old Ones With 5,000 copies, the Eldritch Harbinger is the family's most common Limited and its cheapest entry at 1,199 Robux. Its description is the best writing Roblox ever put on a hat: "Could this be any more eldritch? No. None more eldritch. This takes eldritch to 11." Community records on the [wiki's page for it](https://roblox.fandom.com/wiki/Catalog:Eldritch_Harbinger_of_the_Great_Old_Ones) say Roblox released it at 25 Robux for the Black Friday 2014 sale, which fits the size of the print and the throwaway price. ## Which Cthulhu items are not Limiteds? Santa Cthulhu and the Egg of Cthulhu Two Roblox-made Cthulhu hats sit outside the resale market entirely. Roblox sold it in 2010 for 250 Robux and barely anyone bought it, leaving 144 copies today, then it sat offsale for over a decade with no way to resell. Community records date its conversion to Limited status to October 2022, part of a wave of old offsale items Roblox flipped that year. Owners who had forgotten they held one gained a tradeable item overnight. Note the 16,300,000 Robux ask on 8-Bit Mr. Tentacles. One seller wanting a silly number does not make it a 16 million Robux hat. Always check what the second and third cheapest copies cost before you treat a floor price as the market. ## Are the UGC Cthulhu Limiteds worth buying? Almost none of them RBX Invest tracks 39 UGC Limiteds with Cthulhu in the name, the first from October 2023 and the newest from September 2026. UGC Limiteds are community-made items sold in fixed numbers, and they behave differently from classics in two ways that matter here. They cannot be traded at all, only resold through the Marketplace, and the reseller keeps 50% of the sale price, where a classic resale pays the seller 70%. A UGC copy has to double in price before you break even. Most of these 39 are tiny prints with names like Toy Cthulhu, SQL Cthulhu and Overseer Cthulhu, many of them unlocked with codes. The largest print among them is 175 copies. Small supply reads like scarcity, and on items nobody is looking for it mostly means no buyers. Start at the bottom of the family The sensible entry point depends on your budget, and the family happens to offer one at nearly every tier. Under 2,000 Robux, the Eldritch Harbinger and Crocheted Cthulhu both have copies listed, with enough supply that you can usually find a seller and sell again later. Around 7,000 Robux, Cthulhu in Disguise gets you the family's only Halloween item at a price close to its RAP. Around 14,000, Metal Cthulhu Minion gets you a 733-copy print with a serial number, which is the best scarcity in the family that an ordinary budget can reach. Cthulhu itself is a gem purchase and a different conversation, with a six-figure floor and months between sales. Three mechanics to know before you buy any of them. Buying a resale copy starts a holding period of up to seven days during which you cannot resell that copy, and a trade starts a two-day hold.
