*Roblox's dinosaur Limiteds are 11 classic items from 2010 to 2016. The Tyrannosaurus leads on RAP at 162,897 R$; the JurasSICK Cap asks 299,990 R$.*

Roblox's dinosaur Limiteds are eleven classic items released between 2010 and 2015, and prices across the group run from about 460 R$ to nearly 300,000 R$. A Limited is an item with a fixed number of copies that owners resell to each other. The [Tyrannosaurus](/item/85754656) gear from 2012 holds the family's highest RAP at 162,897 R$ across 988 copies, and the [JurasSICK Cap](/item/207207466) from 2015 is the one traders price highest, with its cheapest listed copy at 299,990 R$ and only 319 copies in circulation. RAP means recent average price, the smoothed average Roblox builds from an item's sale history.

**Quick answer:** Roblox made eleven classic dinosaur Limiteds between 2010 and 2015. The Tyrannosaurus leads on RAP at 162,897 R$, the JurasSICK Cap leads on what a buyer actually has to pay at 299,990 R$ for the cheapest copy, and the Extinct Egg of Dino On Ice is the cheap way into the theme at roughly 460 R$.

## What counts as a Roblox dinosaur Limited? Eleven classic items from 2010 to 2015

Roblox dropped dinosaur hats, face accessories and gear into the catalog every year or two between 2010 and 2015, almost always for under 400 Robux, and then closed the supply. Gear is a usable item that works only in experiences where the developer allows gear, and three of these dinosaurs are gear. Our [gear Limiteds explainer](/articles/roblox-gear-limiteds-explained) covers how that changes who wants them.

Eight of the eleven are Limited U, the flavor of classic Limited where every copy carries a serial number showing its place in the run. The other three are plain Limiteds with no serials. [Limited vs Limited U](/articles/limited-vs-limited-u-roblox) breaks down why that matters to collectors.

All eleven can be traded as well as resold, because Roblox made them. UGC Limiteds work differently: community creators make those, and they move only through Marketplace resales, never through the trade system. Our catalog tracks 212 UGC Limiteds with dinosaur names and 129 of them have recorded at least one sale. The most valuable, [Tyrannosaurus rex (Back)](/item/13494507670), sits at 7,540 R$ RAP on 80 copies, which is less than the RAP of six of the eleven classic items.

Copies drive almost everything here. The thinnest classic dinosaur item has 319 copies and the fattest has 61,002, and that gap explains most of the price spread below.

## Every Roblox dinosaur Limited, with RAP, copies and lowest ask

The table is ordered by consensus street value, meaning the price traders actually treat as real. Ranking by RAP alone would put the Tyrannosaurus on top, and RAP lags badly on items that sell once or twice a year.

An ask is the price a seller lists a copy at, and the lowest ask is what the next buyer pays. RAP, copies and asks are RBX Invest catalog figures as of 20 September 2026, matched against Roblox's own item data the same day. Original prices and release months come from Roblox's asset records, with the Roblox Wiki filling in the history. One date is unsettled: Roblox dates the From the Vault gear, the newest of the eleven, to September 2015, while [the Roblox Wiki](https://roblox.fandom.com/wiki/From_the_Vault_%28series%29) puts the whole From the Vault intern series on one day in September 2016.

Five of the eleven currently ask below their RAP. Every one of them is browsable live in [classic gear](/collections/classic-gear), [classic hats](/collections/classic-hats) and [classic face accessories](/collections/classic-face-accessories).

## Why is the JurasSICK Cap the most valuable Roblox dinosaur item? 319 copies

![JurasSICK Cap](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/207207466?size=420)

The JurasSICK Cap went on sale in January 2015 for 75 Robux and went Limited about a day later, after selling a few hundred copies. The name is a pun on Jurassic Park, and it landed the same year the Jurassic World film came out.

Our catalog counts 319 copies today, which makes it the thinnest classic dinosaur item by a wide margin. The next thinnest, the Prehistoric Piercing Blade, has 800. Thin supply does two things at once: it drags RAP down, because RAP only moves when a sale happens, and it pushes asks up, because the handful of owners willing to part with a copy set whatever price they like.

That gap is exactly what the numbers show. RAP sits at 137,563 R$ while the cheapest copy on sale asks 299,990 R$. Trader consensus sides with the ask, which is why the cap ranks above the Tyrannosaurus here even though the Tyrannosaurus shows the bigger RAP. A stale-low RAP on a thin item is normal, and our guide to [what RAP actually measures](/articles/what-is-rap-roblox) walks through the formula.

Against a 75 Robux launch price, today's RAP is about 1,800 times what the original buyers paid. The Roblox Wiki notes that several hoarders of this cap were later terminated, which would have burned copies out of circulation. Treat that as community lore, though the low copy count fits the story.

## Tyrannosaurus: the roaring gear with the family's highest RAP

![Tyrannosaurus](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/85754656?size=420)

The Tyrannosaurus launched on 5 July 2012 at 200 Robux with a stock of 1,000 copies, and our catalog counts 988 copies today. It's gear. Equip it in an experience that allows gear and it sits on your head and roars when you click.

It carries the highest RAP in the family at 162,897 R$, about 814 times its launch price. The ask is the number worth staring at: 103,000 R$, roughly 37% under RAP. Cheap asks under RAP happen for two reasons. Sometimes an owner wants out fast. Sometimes the last few sales printed high and nobody has been willing to match them since. With 988 copies, this market is deep enough that the ask is the number to trust.

## Where did the 2011 dinosaur hats come from? A cheap catalog run

![Cardboard Dino](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/51242846?size=420)

Roblox published five dinosaur items across 2011, all of them cheap. The [Cardboard Dino](/item/51242846) arrived in May at 10 Robux, the [Dino Jaw Crown](/item/52464382) later that month at 225 Robux, [Brontosaurus Shades](/item/52544038) the day after that at 350 Robux, the [Knitted Beanie Dino](/item/57603998) in July at 35 Robux, and the [Epic Failosaurus](/item/61893436) in September at 20 Robux. The catalog descriptions were pure dad joke, the Dino Jaw Crown's included: "You were victorious over a dinosaur! Awesome! Oh...you got it at the science museum?"

The returns show how little anyone thought of these at the time. The Cardboard Dino's 10 Robux is now 4,837 R$ RAP, around 484x. The Epic Failosaurus went from 20 Robux to 10,304 R$, around 515x. Those multiples are typical of the 2011 catalog, where a 7 Robux skater cap is now the biggest gainer we track. We ranked the whole field in [the biggest gains since release](/articles/roblox-limiteds-biggest-gains-since-release).

Brontosaurus Shades stand out on price. Classic face accessories from that era are scarce, only 918 copies exist, and the cheapest one listed asks 29,998 R$.

## What happened in January 2015? Three dinosaur items in one week

![Prehistoric Piercing Blade](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/206136361?size=420)

Roblox published three dinosaur items inside a single week of January 2015: the Prehistoric Piercing Blade at 600 Robux with 800 copies in stock, the JurasSICK Cap at 75 Robux, and the Gentleman Tyrannosaurus at 250 Robux, which the Roblox Wiki says went Limited half an hour after release.

Three items, one week, three completely different outcomes. The cap is worth six figures. The blade sits at 7,732 R$ RAP with an ask of 5,999 R$. The Gentleman Tyrannosaurus sits at 6,216 R$ RAP with an ask of 5,199 R$.

Supply is the whole story. The cap ended up with 319 copies while the other two hold 800 and 1,011. Nothing about the art or the theme separates them.

## Are free Roblox dinosaur hats worth anything? Not in Robux

![Socialsaurus Flex](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/5797139950?size=420)

The dinosaur items most players actually wear are the free ones. The [Socialsaurus Flex](/item/5797139950) was handed out in October 2020 through a promo code celebrating two million Twitter followers, and it carries 464,960 favorites in our catalog. It's a blue recolor of the [Hungry Dino](/item/89615321), the 2012 catalog hat that still sells for 95 Robux today and holds 298,016 favorites. [Bloxysaurus Rawx](/item/4771108494), the free hat from the 7th Annual Bloxy Awards, holds 310,045.

None of them has a resale market. Free and always-on-sale items have unlimited supply, so there is nothing to trade and no price to track. Favorites measure how many players liked an item, and our study of [whether favorites affect Limited value](/articles/do-roblox-favorites-affect-limited-value) found copy count predicts price far better.

One exception is worth knowing. The Extinct Egg of Dino On Ice was a prize from Roblox's 2010 egg hunt, free to anyone who waited for it to drop from the sky and cracked it out of the ice, and the Roblox Wiki records Roblox flipping it to Limited status in August 2022. That flip froze 61,002 copies and created a market where none existed. At a 460 R$ ask it's the cheapest way to own a dinosaur Limited and the one item here a new trader can buy outright. Our guide to [offsale items going Limited](/articles/offsale-roblox-items-going-limited) explains how those conversions work, and the [Egg Hunt 2010 history](/articles/egg-hunt-2010-crossroads-contest-eggs) covers the event itself.

## How do you buy a dinosaur Limited without overpaying?

Start with the five items currently asking below RAP: the Tyrannosaurus at 103,000 R$, the From the Vault gear at 22,499 R$, the Prehistoric Piercing Blade at 5,999 R$, the Gentleman Tyrannosaurus at 5,199 R$, and the Extinct Egg at 460 R$. A price under RAP can simply mean RAP is stale. On a deep market like the Tyrannosaurus's 988 copies, it's a real discount against recent sales.

Three things to plan for before you buy:

- **Fees on the way out.** Roblox takes 30% of a classic Limited resale, so a 103,000 R$ sale pays you 72,100 R$. The price has to move about 1.43x from your cost before you break even. Our [marketplace fees breakdown](/articles/roblox-marketplace-fees-explained) has the full math.
- **The holding period.** Buy a classic Limited from a reseller and Roblox locks it for seven days before you can resell. Get one in a trade and the lock is two days. Details sit in our [holding periods guide](/articles/roblox-limited-holding-periods).
- **Liquidity, meaning how fast you can sell.** The JurasSICK Cap has 319 copies and sells rarely, so getting back out can take months. The Extinct Egg has 61,002 copies and moves constantly.

Watch the whole theme on the [items leaderboard](/items-leaderboard), browse the price band most of these sit in at [Limiteds under 10,000 Robux](/collections/limiteds-under-10000), find the thin ones under [Limiteds with under 1,000 copies](/collections/limiteds-under-1000-copies), and check the [Deals feed](/deals) for copies listed below RAP. Deals needs a signed-in account.

None of this is financial advice. Limited prices fall as well as rise, and the [collapse in face values](/articles/roblox-limited-faces-value-decline) this year showed how fast a whole category can reprice.

Figures in this article come from RBX Invest catalog data pulled on 20 September 2026 for RAP, copies, lowest asks and favorites, cross-checked the same day against Roblox's own item details for prices and Limited status, with Roblox's marketplace documentation at create.roblox.com for resale and trading rules and the Roblox Wiki on Fandom for release history.

## FAQ

### What is the most valuable Roblox dinosaur Limited?

The JurasSICK Cap is the most valuable on trader consensus, with its cheapest copy listed at 299,990 R$ against only 319 copies in circulation. The Tyrannosaurus holds the higher RAP at 162,897 R$, so the two swap places depending on which number you rank by.

### How much is the Tyrannosaurus worth on Roblox?

The Tyrannosaurus gear has a RAP of 162,897 R$ and its cheapest listed copy asks 103,000 R$ as of 20 September 2026. It launched on 5 July 2012 at 200 Robux with 1,000 copies in stock, and 988 copies remain in circulation.

### What is the cheapest Roblox dinosaur Limited?

The Extinct Egg of Dino On Ice is the cheapest at about 460 R$, with a RAP of 474 R$. It was a free prize from Roblox's 2010 egg hunt and has 61,002 copies, which is why it costs a fraction of the other ten.

### Can you still buy the Hungry Dino?

Yes. The Hungry Dino is a regular catalog hat from 2012, still on sale for 95 Robux with unlimited supply. It has never been a Limited, so it has no RAP and no resale market, and you can't trade it.

### Is the Socialsaurus Flex a Limited?

No. The Socialsaurus Flex was a free promotional item given out in October 2020 through a code celebrating two million Twitter followers. It has no fixed supply and no resale market, despite 464,960 favorites in our catalog.

### Why does the JurasSICK Cap ask so much more than its RAP?

Because it sells rarely. RAP updates only when a sale happens, so on a 319-copy item it can sit months behind the market while owners hold out for higher prices. On thin items like this one, the lowest ask tracks reality better than RAP.

### Are dinosaur Limiteds tradeable?

The eleven classic dinosaur Limiteds are tradeable, and both sides of a trade need an active Roblox Plus subscription. The 212 dinosaur-themed UGC Limiteds in our catalog can't be traded, because Roblox's trade system supports Roblox-created Limiteds only. Those change hands through Marketplace resales.

### Do free dinosaur hats ever become Limiteds?

Sometimes, and only when Roblox decides to flip one. The Extinct Egg of Dino On Ice spent twelve years as a free event prize before the Roblox Wiki records it going Limited in August 2022, which froze supply at 61,002 copies and started its resale market. There's no warning before a flip like that.
