*Roblox elf Limiteds span 14 items, from the 30,000 R$ Elf Ears to the 105-copy Elven Prince. Full ranking with copies, RAP and lowest asks.*

Roblox's elf Limiteds are a 14-item family of festive hats and gears published by Roblox between December 2009 and December 2015. A Limited is an item Roblox stopped selling, so the only way to get one now is to buy or trade for a copy from another player. The most valuable of the family is the [Elven Prince](/item/73151293), a 105-copy hat whose RAP sits at 108,101 R$ and whose only live listing asks 4,000,000 R$. The cheapest is the [Super Happy Elf Hat](/item/332744533) at 424 R$, with 164,668 copies floating around. Half the family launched with a hard copy cap. The other half only became Limiteds later, six of them in a single 2022 wave.

**Quick answer:** RBX Invest tracks 14 elf Limiteds. The Elven Prince leads the family with 105 copies and a RAP of 108,101 R$, and the Super Happy Elf Hat sits at the bottom with 164,668 copies and a RAP of 378 R$.

## What counts as a Roblox elf Limited? Fourteen hats and gears, all published by Roblox

Two different things wear the elf label on Roblox, and collectors treat them as one family because the market does. The first group is the Christmas elf hats: pointy green caps with pointy ears, released around December in 2009, 2011 and 2015. The second group is the fantasy elves, which put the same pointed ears on a medieval design. The [Elven Prince](/item/73151293), the [Elven Princess](/item/250394663) and the [Platinum and Sapphire Circlet of the Elven King](/item/52550492) belong to that second group, and they carry the family's highest prices.

A few terms worth pinning down before the table, since they do most of the work in this article:

- **Copies** is how many of an item exist across every player's inventory.
- **RAP** stands for recent average price. Each time a copy sells, the RAP moves one tenth of the way toward that sale price, so it is a smoothed read of the item's whole sale history.
- **Lowest ask** is the cheapest copy a reseller currently has listed. It is a price someone wants, and nobody has agreed to pay it yet.
- **Limited U**, short for Limited Unique, means the item launched with a fixed number of copies and each one carries a serial number, so copy #1 of 105 is a different object from copy #90.

## Which elf Limited is worth the most? The Elven Prince, at twice the next one

![Elven Prince](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/73151293?size=420)

The Elven Prince is the family's one gem, meaning a scarce item with real money behind it. Roblox published it on April 1, 2012 for 501 R$ under its original name, the Horned Crown. Its asset was created five weeks earlier, on February 23, which is a normal gap and a reason to be careful when you [read an item's asset ID for age](/articles/roblox-asset-id-item-age). The Roblox Wiki documents a launch stock of 125 copies, and RBX Invest counts 105 today, so about twenty have gone missing over fourteen years, which is what happens when the accounts holding them get terminated.

Its pricing is strange in a useful way. The RAP reads 108,101 R$, the lone listing asks 4,000,000 R$, and trader consensus on what a copy changes hands for sits well above the RAP. All three can be true at once. With 105 copies and almost no sales, the RAP is working off trades that may be years old, and since each sale drags it only one tenth of the way, a single modern trade would reprice it hard. Treat a listing that far above RAP the way you would any [projected item](/articles/projected-items-roblox-limiteds-explained), meaning an item whose asking price has been pushed to a level the real market has never reached.

## How did Elf Ears become the family's priciest cheap hat? A 2009 puzzle gift

![Elf Ears](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/19704809?size=420)

Elf Ears has 5,472 copies, more than the Elven Prince, the Circlet of the Elven King and the Elven Princess put together, and it still asks 30,000 R$. The reason sits in how you got it.

In December 2009, Roblox released a run of genre-themed elf hats through the catalog: sports, ninja, pirate, horror, sci-fi, military, western and more. Then it ran Giftsplosion 2009, its Christmas gift event, from December 7 to December 26. The Roblox Wiki documents eleven gift boxes released over those nineteen days, each unlocked by a riddle pointing at a requirement you had to have already met. One of them was the Double Decker Gift of Elvenkind, published on December 11, and its requirement was owning all eleven genre-specific elf hats when the clock ran out on December 22. Anyone who missed the cutoff could still buy the box for Robux before it opened.

It opened into two items: Elf Ears and the Decked Out Elf. Community records put the box at 2,784 purchases as of 2019 and call it the first Giftsplosion box to pay out two prizes at once. The same event produced the [Perfectly Legitimate Business Hat](/articles/perfectly-legitimate-business-hat-history), which went to anyone verified before December 7.

Elf Ears went Limited on December 16, 2010. The Decked Out Elf never did, which is why you will not find it on the resale market. If you like this corner of Roblox history, the [gift box story](/articles/roblox-mystery-gift-boxes-history) and the broader [Christmas Limited history](/articles/roblox-christmas-limiteds-history) both pick up the thread.

## What were the Annoying Elves? Four gears named after Roblox staff, 2,011 copies each

![Annoying Elf: Keith](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/68354853?size=420)

In December 2011 Roblox shipped four shoulder-pet gears about a week apart, each named after a staff member or forum moderator: Ostrichsized on December 2 for 100 R$, ReeseMcBlox on December 11 for 200 R$, Finsurf on December 17 for 250 R$, and Keith on December 23 for 350 R$. Every one carried a stock of exactly 2,011 copies, matching the year.

The descriptions told you to collect all four, and the gears did silly things. Keith dropped flaming hot dogs. Finsurf showed you a bar graph of noob frequency. Ostrichsized muttered at you, including a complaint about never finishing the trading system if people kept clicking him.

They are the cheapest way into a capped-stock elf Limited today. All four have RAPs between 2,836 R$ and 5,382 R$, with asks from 2,890 R$ up to 6,324 R$, and the price order still tracks the launch price order almost exactly: the one that cost 350 R$ is the dearest today, and the one that cost 100 R$ is the cheapest. Nearly fifteen years of trading has barely reshuffled them. All four are Limited U, so every copy has a serial, and low serials carry a modest premium with the collectors who track them. If gear appeals to you, the [classic gear collection](/collections/classic-gear) has the rest of the category.

## Why did six elf hats go Limited in 2022? Roblox was clearing out the old catalog

Seven members of this family were never meant to be collectibles. Sports Elf, Ninja Elf and Pirate Elf sold for 50 R$ in 2009, the Tiny Elf Hat for 75 R$ in 2011. The Jolly Elf and the Super Happy Elf Hat each cost 10 [Tickets](/articles/tixapalooza-tix-currency-limiteds-roblox), Roblox's old second currency, and the Jolly Elf later sold for 35 R$.

![Super Happy Elf Hat](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/332744533?size=420)

They all went offsale, meaning Roblox pulled them from sale, and sat dormant for years before becoming Limiteds in a single 2022 wave: Ninja Elf on August 16, Sports Elf on November 23, the Super Happy Elf Hat on December 8, Pirate Elf on December 15, Jolly Elf on December 27 and the Tiny Elf Hat on December 30. Wiki records put the final sales tallies at 8,021 for Ninja Elf, 5,462 for Sports Elf, 5,131 for Pirate Elf, 2,350 for Tiny Elf Hat, 49,198 for Jolly Elf and 167,945 for Super Happy Elf Hat. Our copy counts run slightly below each of those, which is normal attrition from deleted accounts.

That conversion is the whole reason these hats have prices at all, and the mechanic still happens today. We covered it in [how offsale Roblox items go Limited](/articles/offsale-roblox-items-going-limited).

It also explains the shape of the family's price curve. Supply here was decided by how many people happened to buy a cheap hat more than a decade ago. The Jolly Elf and the Super Happy Elf Hat were close to free and hugely popular, so they ended up with tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of copies, and they trade for a few hundred Robux. Both sit in the [Limiteds under 1,000 R$ collection](/collections/limiteds-under-1000).

## Limited U or Limited: why this family splits cleanly in two

With seven items of each type, the elf family is a tidy illustration of how the two Limited types behave. The seven Limited U items launched with caps between 125 and 2,011 copies, and all seven carry a RAP above 2,800 R$. The seven converted Limiteds hold between 2,271 and 164,668 copies, and six of them have a RAP below 3,000 R$. The exception is Elf Ears, with 5,472 copies and a 30,000 R$ ask, and it holds that price because its supply was capped by how few players finished a puzzle.

Supply is the lever, and launch price barely matters: the Elven Princess cost 125 R$ and asks 22,479 R$, while the Circlet of the Elven King cost 800 R$ and asks 37,200 R$. If the two types are new to you, [Limited vs Limited U](/articles/limited-vs-limited-u-roblox) lays out the mechanics.

## Which elf items never became Limiteds? The Fantasy Elf, the Decked Out Elf and a handful more

Several family members never converted, so they have no RAP and no resale market:

- **Fantasy Elf**, from the 2009 genre set. The Roblox Wiki records it as the one hat from that run that stayed on sale.
- **Decked Out Elf**, the second prize from the Double Decker Gift of Elvenkind.
- **Elven Blade of Glory**, a gear from February 2010, originally 80 R$.
- **Elven Druid**, a hat from October 2011, originally 95 R$.
- **Elf Goggles**, a face accessory from December 2014, originally 100 R$.
- **Elf Backpack** from 2020, **Forest Elf** bundle pieces from 2021 and 2026, and a **Neon Elf Hat** from 2023.

They matter for the family's story and for anyone assembling a complete elf avatar. For a portfolio they are inert, because an item with no cap cannot become scarce.

## What drives the elf family's premium, and where does it go from here

Scarcity does most of the work. A 105-copy hat carries a RAP nearly 300 times the RAP of a 164,668-copy hat, and copy count explains most of the ordering in between. Event history is the second factor, and it is why Elf Ears clears hats with fewer copies than it has. The look matters too: the three fantasy pieces read as medieval royalty, which gives them buyers in March and July as well as in December.

The seasonal pull is real and modest, and it lands hardest on the cheap end. A 500 R$ Jolly Elf is an easy December impulse buy, while a 37,200 R$ circlet gets bought whenever someone has the Robux. The site's [seasonal patterns breakdown](/articles/roblox-economy-seasonal-patterns) has the detail.

My honest read for the near term is that the four Annoying Elf gears are the most interesting part of this family. They have hard caps at 2,011 copies, they sell in a band most traders can afford, and their asks sit within a few hundred Robux of their RAPs, which tells you buyers and sellers broadly agree on the price. Gear also stays quieter than hats, and quiet corners are where mispriced copies turn up. The converted hats at the bottom have no scarcity behind them, so treat those as cosmetics that happen to be resellable. The Elven Prince is a watch-only item for almost everyone, with one listing, 105 copies, and a RAP that has not caught up to the market.

None of this is financial advice, and Roblox Limited prices can fall as easily as they rise. The figures here are a snapshot, so check the live numbers before you buy.

Copies, RAP and lowest-ask figures are RBX Invest catalog data as of October 9, 2026, cross-checked against Roblox's own item details endpoint the same day; release dates, original prices, launch stock and event details are community-documented on the Roblox Wiki; marketplace and resale rules were checked against Roblox's [marketplace documentation](https://create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace).

## FAQ

### What is the most valuable Roblox elf Limited?

The Elven Prince is the most valuable Roblox elf Limited. It has 105 copies, a RAP of 108,101 R$, and a single live listing at 4,000,000 R$ as of October 9, 2026. Roblox published it on April 1, 2012 for 501 R$ with a stock of 125 copies, originally under the name Horned Crown.

### How many Roblox elf Limiteds are there?

RBX Invest tracks 14 elf Limiteds. Seven launched with a fixed copy cap as Limited U items, and seven started as ordinary catalog items or event gifts that Roblox converted to Limited status later, six of them during 2022. Several other elf items exist, including the Fantasy Elf and the Elven Druid, but they never became Limiteds.

### Why is Elf Ears so expensive when it has over 5,000 copies?

Elf Ears asks 30,000 R$ because every copy came out of a 2009 event puzzle. It was one of two prizes inside the Double Decker Gift of Elvenkind during Giftsplosion 2009, and you only got that gift box by owning all eleven genre-specific elf hats before December 22, 2009. It went Limited on December 16, 2010.

### What are the Annoying Elf gears worth?

The four Annoying Elf gears carry RAPs from 2,836 R$ to 5,382 R$ as of October 9, 2026, with asks from 2,890 R$ to 6,324 R$. Keith is the dearest at a 5,382 R$ RAP and a 6,324 R$ ask, followed by ReeseMcBlox, Finsurf and Ostrichsized. Each launched in December 2011 with a stock of exactly 2,011 copies.

### When did the old elf hats become Limiteds?

Six elf hats were converted to Limited status during 2022. Ninja Elf went Limited on August 16, Sports Elf on November 23, and the Super Happy Elf Hat, Pirate Elf, Jolly Elf and Tiny Elf Hat all in December 2022. The Super Happy Elf Hat had sold 167,945 copies at 10 Tickets apiece and is now the family's cheapest member. Elf Ears was converted much earlier, on December 16, 2010.

### Do elf Limiteds go up in December?

The cheap elf hats see more buying interest around December, and the effect is small. A few-hundred-Robux hat is an easy holiday impulse purchase, so the bottom of the family is where seasonality shows up. The fantasy pieces like the Elven Prince and the Circlet of the Elven King trade on scarcity all year.

### Which elf Limited is the best value for a new trader?

Among this family, the four Annoying Elf gears are the most reasonable entry. They have hard caps at 2,011 copies, they trade between roughly 2,800 R$ and 6,400 R$, and their asking prices sit close to their RAPs, which means buyers and sellers broadly agree on the price. This is not financial advice, and you should check live prices before buying.
