*Roblox monster Limiteds are 19 classic items from 2009 to 2016. See copies, RAP and live asks, led by Telamonster: the Chaos Edge at 736,866 RAP.*

Roblox monster Limiteds are the 19 monster-named collectible items Roblox itself made and sold between October 2009 and November 2016. A Limited is an item with a fixed number of copies that players resell to each other once Roblox stops selling it. The best known is the [Oven Monster](/item/22597302), a 2010 hat with 268 copies in existence and a cheapest listing of 100,000 Robux (R$). The most valuable of the group is [Telamonster: the Chaos Edge](/item/93136746), a 100-copy sword whose RAP sits at 736,866 R$. RAP means Recent Average Price, a smoothed average of every sale an item has ever had.

**Quick answer:** Roblox published 19 monster-named classic Limiteds between 2009 and 2016, most of them hats. Telamonster: the Chaos Edge leads the group at 736,866 R$ RAP across 100 copies, and the cheapest way in is the Red Monster League Baseball Cap at 2,395 R$.

## What counts as a Roblox monster Limited? Roblox-made items with "monster" in the name

Roblox never shipped an official "Monster" series the way it shipped the Dominus or Valkyrie lines. These are separate items, spread over seven years, that Roblox named after monsters: hats shaped like fanged blobs, a gear you can hug, two sets of throwing axes, and one sword with the word buried in a pun.

Four words show up in every row below, so here they are once.

- **Copies** is how many of the item exist in the whole game. Lower means scarcer.
- **RAP** is the smoothed average sale price. It moves one tenth of the way toward each new sale, so it lags on items that rarely trade.
- **Lowest ask** is the cheapest price a reseller currently wants. That is the number you actually pay today.
- **Gear** is an equippable item you hold in your hand, like a sword or a set of axes.

Fifteen of the 19 are **Limited U** items, short for Limited Unique, which means every copy carries a serial number showing where it sits in the print run. The other four are plain Limiteds with no serials. Our [Limited vs Limited U guide](/articles/limited-vs-limited-u-roblox) explains why the serial matters to some buyers and not to others.

Roblox made monster-themed items that never became Limiteds too. The Friendly Swamp Monster from October 2016 still sits in the catalog at 100 R$, and the Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters Cap was a free promotional hat in July 2013 that has since gone off sale. Those have no copy count and no RAP, so they do not trade. An item like that only enters this market if Roblox converts it later, which is exactly what happened to four of the items below.

## What made the 2010 monster hats valuable? Tiny stock at joke prices

![Oven Monster](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/22597302?size=420)

The oldest expensive ones come from a three-month stretch in early 2010, when Roblox was selling odd little creatures for pocket change. A Very Special Monster went up on January 30, 2010 at 180 R$. The Oven Monster followed on February 20 at 300 R$. The Sunflower Monster and the Knife-Haired Monster both landed on March 4, at 89 R$ and 72 R$.

Those prices were low because nobody was treating catalog hats as investments yet, and the stock numbers were small because the whole market was small. The Oven Monster has 268 copies today, and the Roblox Wiki records its original stock as 300, so what you are buying now is one of a few hundred objects in a game with hundreds of millions of accounts.

Roblox also gave these items real personality. The Oven Monster's catalog description still reads "It's from a mirror universe where Benjamin Franklin was evil." The Sunflower Monster's says it "loves the sun, flowers, and a sunrise on a summer's day." That writing is a big part of why the 2010 batch is still collected.

Scarcity did the rest. The Knife-Haired Monster sold for 72 R$ and carries a RAP of 13,118 R$, which is roughly 182 times its shelf price. The [items leaderboard](/items-leaderboard) ranks every Limited by value.

## Why do so many monster Limiteds have October release dates?

Nine of the 19 went on sale between October 24 and November 14. The Red Monster League Baseball Cap opened the run in late October 2009. The Monster Slayer arrived on October 26, 2011, the Monster Hat on exactly the same date a year later, the Lava Monster on October 24, 2014, and both the Dual Monster Axes and the Monster Bow Tie on October 30, 2015.

Roblox never labelled these as Halloween items in the catalog, but the timing speaks for itself. Our guide to [Roblox's rarest Halloween Limiteds](/articles/roblox-halloween-limiteds-rarest-items) covers the items it did release under that banner.

## Which monster Limited is worth the most? Telamonster: the Chaos Edge

![Telamonster: the Chaos Edge](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/93136746?size=420)

Telamonster: the Chaos Edge is the family's outlier in every direction. Roblox sold it on September 20, 2012 at 30,000 R$, a fortune for a catalog item then, and only 100 copies exist. Its RAP is 736,866 R$ and the cheapest listing is 2,000,000 R$.

That gap is the interesting part. On items this thin, RAP is a lagging number, because one sale only drags the average a tenth of the way toward the new price. Trader consensus on the Telamonster's street value sits well above its RAP, which is why a 2,000,000 R$ ask is not as strange as it looks next to a 736,866 R$ average.

The name is a pun on Telamon, the account of a longtime Roblox admin, and the sword comes from the Ultimate Swords line. Community records on the [Roblox Wiki's Ultimate Swords page](https://roblox.fandom.com/wiki/Ultimate_Swords_%28series%29) say seven swords were planned and only two shipped, the Telamonster and Crescendo, The Soul Stealer, before the series was dropped in 2012. Our [Telamon item guide](/articles/roblox-admin-exclusive-items-telamon) covers the rest of that lineage.

## Dual Monster Axes vs Dual Axe Monsters: near-identical names, very different prices

![Dual Monster Axes](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/315617026?size=420)

This is the one place in the family where a careless click costs real Robux.

| | ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/315617026?size=150) [Dual Monster Axes](/item/315617026) | ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/319656563?size=150) [Dual Axe Monsters](/item/319656563) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Asset id | 315617026 | 319656563 |
| Released | Oct 30, 2015 | Nov 14, 2015 |
| Original price | 250 R$ | 250 R$ |
| Copies | 1,001 | 1,251 |
| RAP | 94,157 R$ | 5,620 R$ |
| Lowest ask | 70,000 R$ | 10,999 R$ |

Two gear items, the same original price, 15 days apart, and today one carries about 17 times the RAP of the other. The [Dual Monster Axes](/item/315617026) are throwing axes with damage stats in the description. The [Dual Axe Monsters](/item/319656563) are little creatures that follow you and throw axes for you. Demand landed on the first one and stayed there.

Check the asset id in the URL before you buy either, because the names are close enough to fool autocomplete. Our [dual-wield gear history](/articles/dual-wield-gear-series-history-roblox) covers why paired weapon gear holds value in general.

## Why do four monster Limiteds have no serial numbers?

![Monster Hat](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/96079316?size=420)

Because Roblox turned them into Limiteds long after they were sold. The Monster Hat, the Sunflower Monster, the Festive Monster and the Red Monster League Baseball Cap all started as ordinary catalog items that anyone could buy, went off sale, then were converted into resellable Limiteds years later. Converted items come back as plain Limiteds, and a plain Limited carries no serial number.

The Roblox Wiki dates three of those conversions to a single stretch in late 2022: the Monster Hat on October 12, the Sunflower Monster on November 21, and the Festive Monster on December 7. The Red Monster League Baseball Cap was converted far earlier, in April 2011. If that mechanic is new to you, [how offsale Roblox items become Limiteds](/articles/offsale-roblox-items-going-limited) walks through it.

The Festive Monster has the neatest backstory of the four. Roblox sold it during the 2013 Christmas weekend sale for 125 R$ over about six days, which is why only 633 copies exist despite it never being capped at release.

## Are Roblox monster Limiteds worth buying in 2026?

Eight of the 19 currently list below their RAP, including the Dual Monster Axes at 70,000 R$ against a 94,157 R$ average, the Monster Slayer at 21,000 R$ against 23,317 R$, and the Loch Ness Monster Cap at 8,600 R$ against 10,429 R$. Eleven list above it, and a few of those gaps are wide: the Monster Hat asks 95,000 R$ on a 25,629 R$ RAP, and the Oven Monster asks 100,000 R$ on 53,983 R$.

Neither gap is a signal on its own. On items that trade a handful of times a year, a lone reseller can park an ask anywhere, and RAP can sit years behind the last real trade. What the spread tells you is how patient the current holders are. A wide ask on a 300-copy hat usually means the owner is in no hurry.

Two practical notes if you go shopping. Buying a Limited from a reseller needs no subscription, but selling one does: reselling requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account, and Roblox takes a 30% marketplace fee on a classic Limited resale, so you keep 70% of whatever you sell for. Buy a classic Limited on the resale market and it is locked to your account for a holding period of up to 7 days before you can list it again. Our [Deals feed](/deals) flags items listed under RAP as they appear, and it needs a signed-in account.

None of this is financial advice. Limited prices move on demand that can vanish, and a 200-copy hat can sit unsold for months.

Copy counts, RAP and lowest asking prices are RBX Invest catalog data as of September 21, 2026, cross-checked against Roblox's own item details for each asset; release dates, original prices and catalog descriptions come from those same Roblox records, while original stock figures and the 2022 conversion dates are community records from the Roblox Wiki.

## FAQ

### What is a Roblox monster Limited?

A Roblox monster Limited is a Roblox-made collectible item with "monster" in its name and a fixed number of copies. There are 19 of them, released between October 2009 and November 2016, and they are mostly hats plus four gear items.

### Which monster Limited is worth the most?

Telamonster: the Chaos Edge is worth the most, with a RAP of 736,866 R$ across 100 copies and a lowest ask of 2,000,000 R$. It originally sold for 30,000 R$ in September 2012.

### What is the cheapest monster Limited to buy?

The Red Monster League Baseball Cap is the cheapest, listing at 2,395 R$. It also has by far the most copies of any item in the group at 7,680, which is why it stays affordable.

### Are the Dual Monster Axes and the Dual Axe Monsters the same item?

No. They are separate gear items released 15 days apart in 2015 at the same 250 R$ price. The Dual Monster Axes have a RAP of 94,157 R$ and the Dual Axe Monsters 5,620 R$, so check the asset id before buying.

### Why do some monster items have serial numbers and others don't?

Serial numbers come from Limited U status, which Roblox assigned at release. Fifteen of the 19 are Limited U and carry serials. The other four were converted into Limiteds years after their original sale, and conversions like that produce no serials.

### Can you still buy Roblox monster Limiteds?

Yes, every one of them has resellers today, with asks from 2,395 R$ up to 2,000,000 R$. You buy from a reseller through the item's Marketplace page, and buying needs no subscription.

### Do monster Limiteds have anything to do with Halloween?

Roblox never sold them under a Halloween banner, but nine of the 19 went on sale between October 24 and November 14, so the release calendar clusters around it. The items Roblox did brand for Halloween are covered in our rarest Halloween Limiteds guide.

### What is the rarest monster Limited by copies?

Telamonster: the Chaos Edge is the rarest at 100 copies. The Oven Monster is next at 268, then the Monster Hat at 280 and the Monster Slayer at 393.
