Two very different waves exist, and which wave an item belongs to decides what you can do with it. The first wave ran from 2021 to 2022, when Roblox itself published the items. Roblox also published the [Vans x Stranger Things Portable Cassette Player](/item/11401261753), the [NARS Lip Crossbody Bag 3.0](/item/10487228860) and the Burberry Lola bags. All of those are classic Limiteds, meaning Roblox created them, so they can go into player-to-player trades. The second wave started after UGC Limiteds arrived in April 2023. UGC Limiteds are Limiteds published by community creators rather than by Roblox, and brands now publish their own through Roblox groups: adidas, Monstercat, GUCCI, Ralph Lauren. Roblox's marketplace documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable, so every brand item from 2023 onward moves through resale alone. RAP, short for recent average price, is a smoothed average of an item's sale history that shifts a little with every sale. The adidas Diamond Chain at 2,000,000 R$ ![adidas x WhoseTrade Diamond Chain Limited Edition](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/17579020547?size=420) The adidas group published the Diamond Chain on May 22, 2024 with a single copy and a list price of 2,000,000 Robux. Roblox's item data shows it was sold only inside the adidas Outfit Creator experience, and its catalog description says the buyer also received two physical, hand-customized pairs of adidas shoes from Germany. Its RAP today is exactly 2,000,000, which tells you the one copy sold at full list price. That matters, because a one-copy item's RAP is the record of a single purchase. It moves only when the copy changes hands again, and this one has not been listed for resale since. The [adidas x WhoseTrade Ski Mask Limited Edition](/item/17440136367) came out twelve days earlier at 95 R$ with 750 copies, and it now carries a RAP of 268 R$. Its one-of-a-kind pendants went up on September 16, 2023 and its crowns on October 25, 2023, each a single copy priced between 75,000 and 1,000,001 Robux. The listings on them now are asking prices and nothing more. The Emerald Crown launched at 125,000 R$ and its owner has it listed at 15,000,000, which is 120 times the launch price. The Sapphire Crown launched at 175,000 R$ and is listed at 10,000,000, or 57 times. An owner who parks a copy at those multiples is telling the market they would rather keep it, and both items still show a RAP equal to their launch price, so nobody has paid anywhere near the ask. The Diamond Pendant is the one item in the group that shows a real second trade. It launched at 155,000 R$ and its RAP is 147,278. Roblox calculates RAP as the old RAP plus one tenth of the gap between the old RAP and the newest sale, so a drop of 7,722 points to a resale somewhere near 78,000 R$, about half of what the first buyer paid. That is the only price signal in the whole group, and it points down. Its RAP is 8,090, about 85 times what buyers paid, and the cheapest copy today asks 9,500. The ski mask from the same partnership also cost 95 Robux, but adidas minted 750 copies of it, and it has gone nowhere. Copy count is what separated them. The pattern holds across the table. The 50-copy Gucci and Ralph Lauren pieces from the group era trade in the thousands and low tens of thousands, with asks well above their RAP. The 3,496-copy Vans cassette player climbed from 250 R$ to about 6,100 R$, and its RAP and lowest ask sit within 60 Robux of each other, which is what a market with regular sales looks like. A capped free drop is the cheapest way into this category, because the only thing you spend is the time it takes to claim one. It depends on which wave the item came from, and the difference is large. For a UGC Limited, which covers every brand-group item from 2023 onward, Roblox's marketplace documentation sets the resale split at 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate and 30% to Roblox. You keep half. Selling the adidas beanie at its 9,500 R$ ask puts 4,750 R$ in your account, so you need to double your money before you break even. For a classic Limited, which covers the Roblox-published brand items from 2021 and 2022, the marketplace fee is 30% and you keep 70%. Flipping the Vans cassette player at 6,199 R$ returns 4,339 R$, and break-even is about 1.43 times what you paid. Two more rules apply. After buying a Limited from its creator you wait up to 30 days before you can resell it, and after buying one on the resale market you wait up to 7 days. That wait is called a holding period. Reselling also requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account, though whoever buys your copy needs nothing. Selectively, and with your eyes open about how thin these markets are. Scarcity is what carried value in this category: 50 copies, 250 copies, sometimes a single copy tied to a physical prize. A big logo on its own did very little. Walmart's Roblox group has published 194 tracked Limiteds and the most valuable of them carries a RAP of 609 R$. The workable approach is to buy new brand drops at launch price when the copy cap is genuinely low, then wait. Paying a 40,000 R$ ask on a five-year-old brand item asks you to find the next buyer in a market where a few copies trade a year.
