*Yes, a Roblox group can sell UGC Limiteds, and 74% of tracked UGC Limiteds are group-published. See the ID, Roblox Plus and fee rules behind it.*

Yes, a Roblox group can publish and sell UGC Limiteds, and most UGC Limiteds are sold that way. A UGC Limited is a community-made avatar item sold in a fixed number of copies, and when a creator uploads one, Roblox lets them pick their own account or one of their groups as the item's creator. Of the 193,233 UGC Limiteds in the RBX Invest catalog with a creator we can resolve, 143,566 of them (74%) were published by a group, across 13,119 different groups. The group collects the sale Robux, the group keeps a 10% cut of every later resale, and the group owner's Roblox Plus subscription is what keeps those items on sale.

**Quick answer:** A group can be the creator of a UGC Limited as long as the group has ID verification (or a linked parental account) and the group owner has Roblox Plus. Sales and the 10% resale commission go to the group, and 74% of the UGC Limiteds we track are group-published.

| What you're checking | Group as the creator | Your own account as the creator |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Can publish Limiteds | Yes | Yes |
| ID verification or linked parental account | Required | Required |
| 2-step verification to publish | Required | Required |
| Whose Roblox Plus is required | The group owner's | Yours |
| Whose Plus keeps items on sale | The group owner's | Yours |

## Can a Roblox group sell UGC Limiteds? Yes, and 74% of them are group-published

Roblox's [publishing documentation](https://create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace/publish-to-marketplace) is direct about it. The upload dialog has a **Creator** field, and you "can set your user or any associated groups as the creator of this asset." Whoever is listed there sets the price, turns resale on or off, and sees the sales data. Roblox's [marketplace FAQ](https://create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace/frequently-asked-questions) answers the same question in one word, confirming that creators can publish as part of a group and as an individual.

The catalog shows how the community actually votes. Groups published 143,566 of the live UGC Limiteds we track, individual accounts published 49,667, and there are more publishing groups (13,119) than publishing solo accounts (8,283) behind those items. Shops, teams and brands tend to run a group, because one group can hold the items while several people work on them.

The two paths produce different-looking items. The typical group-published UGC Limited has 15 copies. The typical one published from a personal account has 2. Copies are the total number of units of an item that exist, and that count is fixed once the run sells out. You can sort the whole population of creators by output and value on the [creators leaderboard](/creators-leaderboard).

## What changes when a group is the creator? The Robux lands with the group

The split itself stays the same. Roblox's [marketplace fees and commissions](https://create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace/marketplace-fees-and-commissions) page sets one schedule for everyone, and the difference is whose balance the creator share drops into.

On a Marketplace sale, the creator share starts at 30% of the price and climbs the further above the price floor you price the item. The price floor is the minimum Roblox allows for that item slot. Roblox's published table runs from 30% at the floor, to 50% at twice the floor, to 70% at six times the floor and above.

The math with round numbers: say the floor for your slot is 100 Robux and the group lists a Limited hat at 200 Robux, which is 2x the floor. Each sale pays the group 100 Robux and Roblox keeps the rest. Price the same hat at 600 Robux (6x the floor) and the group takes 420 Robux per sale. Roblox then holds every commission for 30 days before it becomes spendable, the escrow period, and that applies to groups exactly as it does to individuals.

Selling inside an experience works differently. There the creator gets the base 30%, the owner of the experience gets 40% as the affiliate, and Roblox keeps 30%, with no progressive bump.

### The 10% resale cut keeps paying the group

Once a UGC Limited is out in the world and resale is enabled, the money splits four ways on every resale: 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox. That 10% creator slice is the part that matters for a group. It lands in the group's balance every time a copy changes hands, years after the run sold out, with no further work from anyone.

A worked example: a copy resells for 1,000 Robux. The reseller banks 500, the creator group banks 100, the affiliate takes 100, and Roblox keeps 300. A reseller nets half the sale price, so a reseller needs roughly double their cost to break even. Our guide to [marketplace fees for resellers](/articles/roblox-marketplace-fees-explained) runs that math from the reseller's side.

Scale it up and you see why serious creators bother. The [Spyder Chain](/item/14651537789) has 25 copies and a cheapest listing today at 3,000,000 Robux. If that copy sells at the asking price, the group that published it collects 300,000 Robux for doing nothing at all.

## What does a group need before it can publish a Limited? ID, 2FA and Roblox Plus

Roblox's [marketplace policy](https://create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace/marketplace-policy) lists the requirements for users and groups together, and they come in three layers.

To upload an asset from Studio, the account or group needs government ID verification or a linked parental account, plus an 80 Robux upload fee per submission (500 Robux if the item uses an emissive mask).

To publish it to the Marketplace, add 2-step verification, a publishing advance, and a Roblox Plus membership on the individual creator or on the group owner. The publishing advance is a refundable upfront fee you pay at publish time and earn back out of Roblox's share as the item sells. It depends on the slot: a hat costs 1,500 Robux as a non-Limited and 13,000 Robux as a paid Limited, while a shirt costs 600 and 5,000. Free Limiteds skip the advance and pay a per-unit fee instead, currently 100 Robux for every copy published. Roblox also caps Limited publishing at one Limited item per day. For the full fee tables, see our breakdown of [UGC Limited publishing fees](/articles/roblox-ugc-limited-publishing-fees).

### If the group owner's Roblox Plus lapses, the items come off sale

The third layer is the one people forget. Roblox lists "keep existing content on-sale" as its own requirement, and it needs a live Roblox Plus membership on the individual creator or the group owner. Roblox Plus costs $4.99 a month and is the subscription behind trading, reselling and marketplace publishing.

So a group's whole shop depends on one person's billing. If the owner's subscription lapses, the group's items can't stay on sale, and anything still in stock stops being buyable from the creator. Copies players already bought stay in those players' inventories. We cover the rest of that in [what happens when Roblox Plus expires](/articles/roblox-plus-expires-limiteds).

## Which group-published UGC Limiteds are worth the most?

These are the highest-RAP UGC Limiteds in our catalog with a group listed as the creator, as of October 2026. RAP stands for Recent Average Price, a smoothed average of what copies have actually sold for, and it moves only when a copy sells. The lowest ask is the cheapest copy a reseller currently has listed.

| Item | Creator group | Copies | RAP | Lowest ask |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/17579020547?size=150) [adidas x WhoseTrade Diamond Chain Limited Edition](/item/17579020547) | [adidas](/creator/33382339) | 1 | 2,000,000 R$ | None listed |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/15554863465?size=150) [Golden Bullhead](/item/15554863465) | [Lamborghini](/creator/33227838) | 3 | 1,500,000 R$ | 9,999,999,999 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/14651537789?size=150) [Spyder Chain](/item/14651537789) | [Spyder Simulators](/creator/32413594) | 25 | 1,242,730 R$ | 3,000,000 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/14795492108?size=150) [Monstercat's 1/1 Ruby Pendant](/item/14795492108) | [Monstercat](/creator/7216973) | 1 | 1,000,001 R$ | None listed |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/75288990250785?size=150) [Smite Horns Of Greed](/item/75288990250785) | [Quataun](/creator/12121240) | 99 | 284,687 R$ | 47,777 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/132505816121229?size=150) [Player Point Domino Crown](/item/132505816121229) | [bloxoria](/creator/6364071) | 8 | 200,582 R$ | None listed |

Four of those six have nothing listed at all, or a placeholder ask so high that nobody will ever pay it. The Golden Bullhead's cheapest copy sits at just under 10 billion Robux, which is a holder saying "not for sale" in the only language the resale page understands. We explain that habit in [why Limiteds get listed for billions](/articles/roblox-limiteds-listed-for-billions). One-copy items are the extreme version of the same problem, because there's exactly one owner and no market at all until that person moves.

### The Spyder Chain is the clearest group-published gem

![Spyder Chain](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/14651537789?size=420)

A gem, in our vocabulary, is a scarce high-value Limited that collectors actually chase, and the Spyder Chain qualifies at 25 copies with a seven-figure RAP. Its creator credit goes to the [Spyder Simulators](/creator/32413594) group, and its full story is in our [Spyder Chain history](/articles/spyder-chain-roblox-history).

It also shows what a group buys you at the top of the market. The item carries a brand, the group outlives any individual contributor, and the 10% resale commission keeps arriving every time one of those 25 copies changes hands.

### Brands sell through groups too

![Monstercat](https://img.rbxinvest.com/group/7216973?size=150)

Real-world brands do the same thing. [adidas](/creator/33382339), [Lamborghini](/creator/33227838) and [Monstercat](/creator/7216973) all publish their Roblox items through groups, which is the only sensible setup when a company can't tie its catalog to one employee's personal account. If you collect brand items, our guides to [brand collab Limiteds](/articles/roblox-brand-collab-limiteds-value) and the [Monstercat drops](/articles/monstercat-roblox-limiteds-history) go deeper, and you can browse live prices by category on the [collections hub](/collections).

## What group-published UGC Limiteds mean for buyers: more copies listed

Half of the group-published UGC Limiteds we track (72,196 of 143,566) have at least one copy listed by a reseller right now. For items published from personal accounts, it's 28% (13,935 of 49,667). Groups are where the bigger shops publish, bigger shops make bigger runs, and bigger runs leave more copies floating around for sale.

Thin supply cuts both ways. A 2-copy item from a solo creator is rarer on paper, and that rarity is exactly why you may wait months for a seller to show up. If you want items you can actually buy today, start with what's [in stock](/collections/ugc-limiteds-in-stock) or already [sold out](/collections/sold-out-ugc-limiteds), and watch the [Deals feed](/deals) for copies listed under RAP (you'll need to be signed in for that one).

Two rules hold no matter who published an item. UGC Limiteds can't be traded, because Roblox's documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable, so every copy moves through a Marketplace resale. And every purchase comes with a holding period, the waiting time before you're allowed to resell: up to 30 days if you bought at launch from the creator, and up to 7 days if you bought a copy from another reseller. Roblox's docs also note that reselling community-created Limiteds isn't available to accounts based in Japan. Our [holding period guide](/articles/roblox-limited-holding-periods) has the details.

One last thing worth knowing before you spend real Robux. A group can be deleted, or its owner's subscription can lapse, and either event decides whether new copies keep selling from the creator. Copies you already own stay in your inventory. Check the [items leaderboard](/items-leaderboard) for the market around an item, and the [reseller terminal](/resell) if you want to watch your own listing position. None of this is financial advice, and Limiteds can lose value as fast as they gain it.

## FAQ

### Can a Roblox group sell UGC Limiteds?

Yes. When a creator uploads an avatar item, Roblox's publishing flow lets them list their own account or any group they're associated with as the creator, and that creator can publish the item as a Limited. Group-published items make up 74% of the UGC Limiteds in the RBX Invest catalog that have a creator we can resolve.

### Who gets the Robux when a group's UGC Limited sells?

The group does. Roblox's fees page splits each sale between the creator and Roblox, and when the creator is a group, the creator share goes to the group. That share starts at 30% of the price at the item's price floor and rises to 70% at six times the floor on Marketplace sales. Every commission sits in a 30-day escrow before it's spendable.

### Does a group need Roblox Plus to publish Limiteds?

The group owner does. Roblox's marketplace policy requires a Roblox Plus membership on the individual creator or the group owner both to publish content and to keep existing content on sale, alongside ID verification (or a linked parental account) and 2-step verification.

### What happens to a group's items if the owner's Roblox Plus expires?

They can't stay on sale. Roblox lists an active membership as a requirement for keeping existing content on-sale, so an unsold run stops being buyable from the creator once the owner's subscription lapses. Copies players already bought stay in those players' inventories.

### Is it cheaper to publish a UGC Limited as a group?

No, the fees are identical. Uploading costs 80 Robux per submission either way (500 Robux for an item with an emissive mask), and publishing costs the same refundable publishing advance, such as 13,000 Robux for a paid Limited hat. Free Limiteds pay a per-unit fee instead, currently 100 Robux per copy.

### Can a Roblox group trade or resell Limiteds?

No. Reselling is done by players who bought a copy and hold a Roblox Plus subscription, and trading on Roblox covers only classic Limiteds, the ones Roblox made itself, passing between two accounts that both subscribe. A group's role is being the creator, which earns it 10% of every resale forever.

### How can I tell if a UGC Limited was published by a group?

Check the creator credit on the item's page. On RBX Invest, every item page links to its creator, and a group creator opens a community page instead of a player profile. Group names also show up on the [creators leaderboard](/creators-leaderboard) next to the number of items they've published.

### Do group-published UGC Limiteds hold value better?

Group-published items are easier to buy and sell. Half of them have a reseller listing right now, against 28% of the ones published from personal accounts, and the typical group run is 15 copies against 2 for a solo-account run. That liquidity helps you get out of a position when you want to. Whether an item holds value still comes down to demand for that specific item.
