*Roblox Limited face prices fell 61% from their January 2026 peak, with the crash over by May and a slow drift lower since, while classic hats recovered.*

Roblox Limited face prices have stopped crashing, but they haven't bottomed in the sense of turning back up. Across the 27 Roblox-made Limited faces with at least 300 recorded sales in 2026, the median face sells for 61% less than it did in January, and almost all of that fall happened in two months, March to May. Since then the slide has slowed to a crawl, moving from an index reading of 44 in May to 39 in October. A Limited is an item Roblox has stopped selling, with a fixed number of copies that players resell and trade. The [Super Super Happy Face](/item/494291269), the most heavily traded Limited face there is, averaged 261,956 R$ per sale in January and 98,436 R$ in October.

**Quick answer:** Roblox Limited face prices fell about 61% from their January 2026 peak, with the steep part over by May, and have drifted slowly lower since. Comparable Roblox-made hats are down only 14% from January and have gained about 9% since July, so faces keep sinking while the rest of the classic market recovers.

| Month (2026) | Limited face index | Classic hat index |
| --- | --- | --- |
| January | 100 | 100 |
| February | 90 | 108 |
| March | 85 | 121 |
| April | 59 | 120 |
| May | 44 | 87 |
| June | 45 | 79 |
| July | 41 | 78 |
| August | 41 | 90 |
| September | 39 | 91 |
| October (to the 22nd) | 39 | 86 |

Both columns show the median price a copy actually sold for that month, scaled so January 2026 reads 100. The face column follows a fixed group of 27 Roblox-made Limited faces, the hat column a fixed group of 253 Roblox-made hats, hair pieces and face accessories, every one of them with at least 300 recorded sales in 2026.

## Have Roblox Limited face prices bottomed? The crash is over, the drift isn't

The violent part is finished. Faces went from 85 in March to 59 in April to 44 in May, losing nearly half their value in two months. Nothing like that has happened since. The last four monthly readings are 41, 41, 39 and 39.

Calling that a bottom would be generous. A real bottom turns up, and this one keeps leaking: 44 in May to 39 in October is another 11% gone over five months. The useful way to describe it is a market that has finished panicking and is now slowly settling to a lower level.

The contrast with the rest of the classic market is what makes it clear this is a face problem. Classic hats had their own bad spring, dropping from 121 in March to 78 in July. They then climbed back to 86, and 178 of the 253 hats tracked here are worth more today than they were in July. Only 10 of the 27 faces can say the same, and the median face is down 2% over that same stretch while the median hat is up 9%.

## How far did Limited faces fall? The median is down 61% since January

Here are eight of the most actively traded Limited faces, ordered by trader consensus on what each one is really worth. Every price is the average that copies actually sold for in that month.

| Face | Copies | Jan 2026 | Jul 2026 | Oct 2026 | vs Jan |

| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/bundle/161273774968765?size=150) [Snow Queen Smile](/item/2569005011) | 25,006 | 14,131 R$ | 4,077 R$ | 4,655 R$ | -67% |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/bundle/76831638855316?size=150) [Blue Wistful Wink](/item/583721561) | 45,350 | 11,926 R$ | 4,571 R$ | 3,841 R$ | -68% |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/2222774106?size=150) [Green Starry Sight](/item/2222774106) | 50,019 | 4,835 R$ | 2,062 R$ | 2,044 R$ | -58% |

Two of the eight have clearly gained ground since July: the Super Super Happy Face, up 30% from its July average, and the Snow Queen Smile, up 14%. The Heart Gaze is unchanged, and the other five sit a little lower.

Copy count barely mattered. The 18,030-copy ROBLOX Madness Face and the 50,019-copy Green Starry Sight fell by roughly the same share of their value, 59% and 58%. When buyers walk away from a whole category, being the scarce item inside that category doesn't save you.

### The Super Super Happy Face is the clearest signal

With 31,822 copies and more than 2,100 recorded sales this year, this is the face that trades most often, so its price says the most about real demand. It averaged 75,606 R$ in July and 98,436 R$ in October, while the cheapest copy listed on the resale market sat at 134,599 R$ when we pulled this data. A cheapest listing well above recent sales is ordinary: sellers post hopeful prices and sales happen lower down. Our guide to [why a Limited's price can sit above its RAP](/articles/roblox-limited-price-higher-than-rap) breaks that down.

## Why didn't faces recover with the rest of the market? The item changed

Roblox announced "Completing the Dynamic Head Migration" on January 27, 2026, and started rolling it out on March 23, 2026. Classic flat 2D faces, Limiteds included, were replaced by animated dynamic heads. Roblox kept every serial number and quantity the same and said reselling and trading would work exactly as before (a serial number is the edition number stamped on your copy, so serial 1 of 92 is the first one ever sold).

So the rules stayed put and the item moved. Someone who paid a lot for a flat, instantly recognizable 2009 face ended up owning an animated version of it, and a real share of the demand for these things was always about that exact classic look. Hats went through nothing comparable, which is the simplest explanation for why hats bounced in August and faces kept slipping.

The timing lines up closely. Face prices topped in the same month as the announcement. In the nine months since, the index has fallen in six of them, risen in one and held flat in two. Our earlier breakdown of the [2026 collapse in Limited face values](/articles/roblox-limited-faces-value-decline) covers that first leg, and the [2026 head marketplace deadline explainer](/articles/roblox-head-marketplace-deadline-2026) covers what happened on the catalog side.

## Are Limited faces still selling? Yes, roughly 2,300 a month

The easy assumption is that this market died. It didn't. Monthly sales across the 27 faces have barely changed all year:

| Month (2026) | Recorded face sales |
| --- | --- |
| January | 2,590 |
| April | 1,733 |
| July | 2,304 |
| September | 2,872 |
| October (to the 22nd) | 1,768 |

September was the busiest month of 2026. Buyers kept turning up the whole way down, they simply paid less each month. That matters if you own one. You can sell a popular Limited face this week near the last traded price, which is more than holders of many rarer classics can manage. Our [Deals feed](/deals) flags listings that fall below an item's recent trading range, and it needs a signed-in account.

## What about expensive faces like Red Tango? They hardly trade

The gem tier behaves completely differently. A gem is a scarce, high-value Limited, and the gem faces have copy counts in the hundreds instead of the tens of thousands. They also almost never sell, which leaves their RAP (Recent Average Price, Roblox's smoothed average of an item's sale history, which only moves when a copy sells) badly out of date.

| Face | Copies | RAP | Last recorded sale |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/bundle/146513564678819?size=150) [Red Tango](/item/16652251) | 92 | 4,588,638 R$ | January 29, 2026 |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/bundle/137733902163768?size=150) [Red Glowing Eyes](/item/180660043) | 150 | 4,620,619 R$ | August 30, 2025 |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/bundle/233554193728826?size=150) [Eyes of Crimsonwrath](/item/49493376) | 119 | 769,744 R$ | June 21, 2026 |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/bundle/211693358929906?size=150) [Yellow Glowing Eyes](/item/416846000) | 150 | 1,053,018 R$ | August 20, 2026 |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/bundle/120902739971435?size=150) [Tattletale](/item/26343188) | 466 | 486,592 R$ | August 14, 2026 |

That table is ordered by trader consensus, and in two places the consensus disagrees with RAP. Red Tango ranks above Red Glowing Eyes on a RAP that is 31,981 R$ lower, and Eyes of Crimsonwrath ranks above Yellow Glowing Eyes on a RAP that is 283,274 R$ lower. Both gaps come from the same cause. These faces record one or two sales a year, so a single old trade can leave the published average describing a market that has moved on. We dig into that effect in [why rare Limiteds show a low RAP](/articles/rare-roblox-limiteds-low-rap).

Because they barely trade, nobody can honestly say whether gem faces have bottomed. Red Glowing Eyes has not recorded a sale since August 2025. One copy changing hands would reset the whole reading.

## Should you buy, hold or sell Limited faces now?

Three honest positions, depending on where you stand.

If you're holding popular faces, the worst window has passed. Dumping into the April and May collapse was the expensive move, and the market has absorbed five more months of supply without another leg down. Our guide on [when to sell a Roblox Limited](/articles/when-to-sell-a-roblox-limited) is a better way to think it through than reacting to a scary chart.

If you're buying, you're betting that demand comes back now that animated heads are what everyone owns. The argument for it is that sales never dried up: these 27 faces averaged about 2,300 sales a month through September. The argument against it is sitting in the index, which has gone 44, 45, 41, 41, 39, 39 and shows no sign of turning. Browse the whole category on our [classic faces collection](/collections/classic-faces) and check it against the [items leaderboard](/items-leaderboard) before you spend Robux.

If you're flipping, the gap between asking prices and recent sales is wide on the popular faces, so patience pays. There's no reason to take the first listing you see.

None of this is financial advice. Limited prices can keep falling, and a category already down 61% can fall again.

Figures in this article come from RBX Invest catalog and sale-history data as of October 22, 2026, with the migration timeline taken from Roblox's "Completing the Dynamic Head Migration" developer forum announcement of January 27, 2026.

## FAQ

### Have Roblox Limited face prices bottomed?

Not quite. The crash ended around May 2026, but prices keep drifting lower. A 27-face index of the most-traded Roblox-made faces reads 44 in May, 45 in June, 41 in July, 41 in August, 39 in September and 39 in October, against 100 in January 2026.

### How much are Roblox Limited faces down in 2026?

The median actively traded Limited face is down 61% from January 2026. Among the eight most-traded faces, the falls run from 58% on the Green Starry Sight to 68% on both the Playful Vampire and the Blue Wistful Wink.

### Why did Roblox Limited face values crash?

Roblox announced on January 27, 2026 that it would finish converting classic 2D faces into animated dynamic heads, and the rollout began on March 23, 2026. Face prices peaked in the month of that announcement and have fallen in six of the nine months since, rising in only one. Serial numbers, quantities and trading rules were all kept the same, so what changed was the item itself.

### Are classic Roblox hats falling too?

No. Roblox-made hats, hair pieces and face accessories are down about 14% from January 2026, against 61% for faces, and they have gained roughly 9% since July. 178 of the 253 hats tracked here are worth more now than in July, compared with 10 of 27 faces.

### Can you still sell a Roblox Limited face?

Yes. The most-traded faces recorded between 1,733 and 2,872 sales per month through 2026, and September was the busiest month of the year. The Super Super Happy Face alone has logged more than 2,100 sales in 2026, so popular faces sell quickly at something close to recent prices.

### What is the most valuable Roblox Limited face?

By trader consensus it's the Red Tango, which has 92 copies and a RAP of 4,588,638 R$. The Red Glowing Eyes carries a marginally higher RAP at 4,620,619 R$, but it has not recorded a sale since August 2025, so that number is more than a year old.

### Did the dynamic head migration change trading or resale rules?

No. Roblox's announcement says Limited heads keep the same serial numbers and quantities and that reselling and trading work exactly as before. Roblox's marketplace documentation also confirms that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable, which was true before the migration and remains true now.

### Why does a Limited face show a high RAP with no recent sales?

Because RAP only moves when a copy sells. On a face with 92 or 150 copies, whole months pass without a single trade, so the published average can be a year or more behind the market. The asking prices that the few holders post are often many times higher than what anyone has actually paid.
