*Roblox has 67,812 Limited hats: 1,569 classic and 66,243 UGC. The median classic hat carries a 6,969 R$ RAP, the median UGC hat 119 R$.*

Roblox has 67,812 Limited hats in the RBX Invest catalog as of October 8, 2026, split into 1,569 classic hats that Roblox made itself and 66,243 UGC Limited hats made by community creators. A Limited is a catalog item with a fixed number of copies that owners can resell to each other, a UGC Limited is one a community creator published, and RAP (recent average price) is a smoothed average of an item's sale history that moves one tenth of the way toward each new sale. The median classic Limited hat carries a RAP of 6,969 Robux (R$), and the median UGC Limited hat carries 119 R$. Traders rank [Dominus Empyreus](/item/21070012) as the most valuable hat on the platform, and the highest RAP of any hat belongs to [Dominus Frigidus](/item/48545806) at 28,059,680 R$ on 27 copies.

**Quick answer:** There are 67,812 Roblox Limited hats, which makes hats the biggest Limited category on the platform. Only 1,569 of them are classic Roblox-made hats, and that is where the money sits: 223 classic hats carry a RAP above 100,000 R$, against 16 of the 66,243 UGC Limited hats.

| Median copies | 1,227 | 25 |
| Median lowest ask | 7,860 R$ | 999 R$ |
| Hats with a live listing | 1,540 of 1,569 | 41,867 of 66,243 |

| RAP above 1,000,000 R$ | 58 | 3 |

## How many Roblox Limited hats are there? 67,812, and only 1,569 are classic

Hats dominate both halves of the Limited market, and they dominate the classic half completely. Of the 2,515 classic Limiteds RBX Invest tracks, 1,569 are hats, so about 62% of everything Roblox itself ever turned into a Limited sits on your head. On the UGC side, 66,243 of 187,575 items are hats, roughly 35%, with the rest spread across neck accessories, back accessories, hair, faces and the clothing slots.

Those 66,243 UGC hats come from 11,888 different creator accounts. The 1,569 classic hats all came from one publisher. You can browse both groups live on the [classic Limited hats collection](/collections/classic-hats) and the [UGC Limited hats collection](/collections/ugc-limited-hats), each ranked by RAP with current asks beside it.

Supply separates the two groups immediately. The median classic hat has 1,227 copies. The median UGC hat has 25. If scarcity alone set prices, UGC hats would be worth far more than classics, and they are worth far less, so demand matters at least as much as copy count does.

## What are the most valuable Roblox Limited hats? Domini and Sparkle Time Fedoras

![Dominus Empyreus](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/21070012?size=420)

Two families own the top of the hat market. The Dominus line is a set of wide, horned hoods, eleven of them, published between January 2010 and October 2019. The Sparkle Time Fedora line is the original glittering fedora from December 2007 plus ten recolors, the last of them White in August 2017, eleven items in all. Between them they take most of the seats at the top.

The table below is ordered by what traders agree these hats actually change hands for, which the RAP column tracks loosely at best. RAP averages past sales, so on a hat that sells once or twice a year it drifts a long way from the price a buyer would really pay today.

| Hat | RAP | Copies | Lowest ask |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/21070012?size=150) [Dominus Empyreus](/item/21070012) | 13,577,229 R$ | 23 | 618,033,988 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/88885069?size=150) [Lord of the Federation](/item/88885069) | 1,277,922 R$ | 10 | 618,033,988 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/48545806?size=150) [Dominus Frigidus](/item/48545806) | 28,059,680 R$ | 27 | 618,033,988 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/31101391?size=150) [Dominus Infernus](/item/31101391) | 1,973,087 R$ | 27 | 618,033,988 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/162067148?size=150) [Dominus Astra](/item/162067148) | 14,321,557 R$ | 26 | None listed |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/72082328?size=150) [Red Sparkle Time Fedora](/item/72082328) | 4,871,499 R$ | 99 | 333,333,333 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/119916949?size=150) [Midnight Blue Sparkle Time Fedora](/item/119916949) | 11,328,842 R$ | 100 | 47,500,000 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/259423244?size=150) [Black Sparkle Time Fedora](/item/259423244) | 5,814,995 R$ | 100 | 9,876,543,210 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/1031429?size=150) [Domino Crown](/item/1031429) | 5,726,071 R$ | 25 | 68,686,868,686 R$ |

Three things in that table are worth slowing down on.

Dominus Frigidus has the biggest RAP of any hat on Roblox at 28,059,680 R$, and it still ranks third here. Empyreus takes first place with 23 copies, four fewer, and it was the first Dominus Roblox ever published, back in January 2010.

[Lord of the Federation](/item/88885069) and [Dominus Infernus](/item/31101391) show how far RAP can lag. Their RAPs read 1,277,922 R$ and 1,973,087 R$, roughly a twenty-second and a fourteenth of Frigidus, and traders put both of them above it or right behind it. Lord of the Federation has ten copies in existence. When a hat sells once every year or two, every stale sale keeps dragging the average, and the average stops describing the market.

The Sparkle Time Fedoras tell the same story in miniature. [Red](/item/72082328) has the ninth-highest RAP of the eleven fedoras in that family at 4,871,499 R$, and traders value it as the most expensive Sparkle Time of the lot, ahead of [Midnight Blue](/item/119916949) and its 11,328,842 R$ RAP.

Those enormous asks are placeholder listings. An owner with no intention of selling still has to type a number into the box, so they type 618,033,988 or 68,686,868,686 and leave it there. Read the full family stories in the [Dominus series history](/articles/dominus-series-history-roblox) and the [Roblox fedora family history](/articles/fedora-series-history-roblox), or compare live prices on the [Dominus collection](/collections/dominus) and the [Sparkle Time collection](/collections/sparkle-time).

## Why are UGC Limited hats worth so much less? 48,678 have a RAP under 1,000 R$

The UGC hat market runs on tiny print runs and tiny prices at the same time. Of 66,243 UGC Limited hats, 22,935 have 10 copies or fewer and 8,265 have exactly one copy, yet 48,678 carry a RAP under 1,000 R$. Scarcity with no buyers behind it does not produce a price.

Liquidity is the clearest gap. 1,540 of the 1,569 classic hats have a live resale listing, about 98% of them. On the UGC side, 41,867 of 66,243 do, which leaves 24,376 UGC hats with nothing for sale at any price. A hat nobody lists is a hat you cannot buy, and usually a hat whose owner cannot find a buyer either.

The handful of UGC hats that did reach real money look like this. They are ordered by RAP, since the small group of UGC hats at this level has no settled trader consensus to rank them by.

| Hat | RAP | Copies | Lowest ask |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/15554863465?size=150) [Golden Bullhead](/item/15554863465) | 1,500,000 R$ | 3 | 9,999,999,999 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/13609645958?size=150) [QT Bandana](/item/13609645958) | 1,381,724 R$ | 99 | 9,999,999 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/13600790692?size=150) [Gold Headphones](/item/13600790692) | 1,000,000 R$ | 1 | 9,999,999,999 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/75288990250785?size=150) [Smite Horns Of Greed](/item/75288990250785) | 284,687 R$ | 99 | 47,777 R$ |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/15168457285?size=150) [Monstercat's 1/1 Ruby Crown](/item/15168457285) | 225,000 R$ | 1 | None listed |
| ![](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/132505816121229?size=150) [Player Point Domino Crown](/item/132505816121229) | 200,582 R$ | 8 | None listed |

Read those RAPs with care. A 3-copy hat whose RAP says 1,500,000 R$ may have sold once, ever, and that one sale set the whole average. The 99-copy items in the list, [QT Bandana](/item/13609645958) and [Smite Horns Of Greed](/item/75288990250785), have enough sales behind them to mean something, and we went through both in detail in [the QT Bandana and Smite Hammer piece](/articles/qt-bandana-smite-hammer-ugc-limiteds). The one-copy hats work as trophies. Treat them as display pieces until a real sale proves otherwise, which is the pattern behind [why one-copy UGC Limiteds rarely sell](/articles/rarest-ugc-limiteds-one-copy-items).

One more rule shapes this whole half of the market. UGC Limiteds cannot be traded: Roblox's player-to-player Trade system handles classic Limiteds only, so every UGC hat changes hands as a Robux resale. That single restriction is a big part of why 2,515 classic items carry so much of the market's weight.

## What does a cheap Roblox Limited hat cost? 7,107 UGC hats list at 100 R$ or under

![Glossy Red Baseball Cap](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/12803855954?size=420)

The bottom of the hat market is enormous and nearly free. 7,107 UGC Limited hats have a live ask at 100 R$ or less, and the median UGC hat ask is 999 R$. Zero classic hats list that low. The cheapest live classic hat ask in the catalog on that date was 275 R$ for [Eggmunition](/item/4771632715), a 2020 release with 2,137,962 copies.

High supply is what makes a classic hat cheap. [Glossy Red Baseball Cap](/item/12803855954) above went out in March 2023 with a 10,000,000-copy run, of which 507,103 copies have been minted, and its RAP sits at 105 R$ with no resale listing at all. Set that against the 6 classic hats with 10 copies or fewer and the 105 with 100 or fewer, and the shape of the market is plain. Copy count is the strongest single predictor of a classic hat's price, which is what the year-by-year numbers show in [are older Roblox Limiteds worth more](/articles/are-older-roblox-limiteds-worth-more).

If you are hunting the cheap end on purpose, the [Limiteds under 100 R$ collection](/collections/cheap-limiteds-under-100) sorts the catalog cheapest first, and the [Deals feed](/deals) shows items listed below their RAP right now. Deals needs a signed-in account. The collections and the leaderboards do not.

## What you keep when you sell a Limited hat: 70% on a classic, 50% on a UGC hat

The fee is the part beginners forget, and it works differently on the two halves of the hat market. Roblox's [marketplace fees documentation](https://create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace/marketplace-fees-and-commissions) sets both splits.

Sell a classic Limited hat and the marketplace fee is 30%, so you keep 70% of the sale price. A hat you bought for 10,000 R$ has to resell for about 14,300 R$ before you break even.

Sell a UGC Limited hat and the split is wider: 50% to you as the reseller, 10% to the item's creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox. You keep half. A UGC hat bought for 10,000 R$ has to resell for 20,000 R$ before you break even, which is why those thin asks on a 100-copy UGC hat so rarely turn into profit.

Reselling a Limited requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account, and trading classic Limiteds requires one on both sides. Buying somebody else's resale listing needs no subscription at all. Holding periods apply after you buy, and the [Roblox Limited holding periods guide](/articles/roblox-limited-holding-periods) walks through each one.

None of this is financial advice. Limiteds are virtual items, and their prices move on nothing more solid than what the next collector feels like paying.

## Which Limited hat should you buy? Pick your market first

Decide which half of the market you are shopping in before you look at a single price.

If you want something that holds value and can be traded, you are shopping the 1,569 classic hats, and you are mostly choosing between copy count and family name. A 100-copy hat from a famous line costs more than a 100-copy hat from a line nobody remembers. The [items leaderboard](/items-leaderboard) ranks all of them by RAP, market value and growth, so you can see where a candidate sits before you commit Robux to it.

If you want cheap avatar cosmetics with a small chance of appreciation, the UGC hats are your shelf, and the first thing to check is whether anything is listed at all. A hat with one copy and no listings has no market, whatever its RAP says. The [Reseller Terminal](/resell) prices the ones you already own against the live ladder.

For the wider question of whether hats are the best category to put Robux into, [what type of Roblox Limited is worth the most](/articles/roblox-limited-types-worth-the-most) compares hats against gear, faces, hair and the rest on median price.

Figures in this article come from RBX Invest catalog data as of October 8, 2026, with fee and subscription rules checked against Roblox's marketplace documentation on the same date, and lowest asks confirmed against Roblox's own resale data wherever our catalog showed none.

## FAQ

### How many Roblox Limited hats are there?

There are 67,812 Roblox Limited hats as of October 8, 2026: 1,569 classic hats made by Roblox and 66,243 UGC Limited hats made by community creators. Hats are the largest Limited category on the platform, at about 62% of all classic Limiteds and 35% of all UGC Limiteds.

### What is the most valuable Roblox Limited hat?

Dominus Frigidus has the highest RAP of any Roblox hat at 28,059,680 R$ on 27 copies, while traders generally rank Dominus Empyreus above it, a 23-copy hood with a 13,577,229 R$ RAP. Both are classic Roblox-made hats from the Dominus line, and both sit far above anything else in the catalog.

### Are UGC Limited hats worth anything?

Most are worth very little. Of 66,243 UGC Limited hats, 48,678 have a RAP under 1,000 R$ and only 16 top 100,000 R$. A few exceptions reached real money, such as Golden Bullhead at a 1,500,000 R$ RAP on 3 copies, but 24,376 UGC hats have no resale listing at all, so there is no live market for them.

### Can you trade Roblox Limited hats?

Only the classic ones. Roblox's player-to-player Trade system supports classic Roblox-made Limiteds, and both players need an active Roblox Plus subscription. UGC Limited hats cannot be traded at all, so they change hands only as Robux resales on the Marketplace.

### How much Robux do you keep when you sell a Limited hat?

You keep 70% of the sale price on a classic Limited hat, after Roblox's 30% marketplace fee. On a UGC Limited hat you keep 50%, with 10% going to the creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate and 30% to Roblox. Break-even is therefore about 1.43 times your cost on a classic hat and exactly 2 times your cost on a UGC hat.

### What is the cheapest Roblox Limited hat?

The cheapest classic Limited hat listed as of October 8, 2026 was Eggmunition at 275 R$, a 2020 release with 2,137,962 copies. On the UGC side, 7,107 hats carry a live ask at 100 R$ or less, so the real floor of the hat market sits in the double digits of Robux.

### Why do some Limited hats show no price?

Because nobody has a copy listed for sale. 29 of the 1,569 classic hats and 24,376 of the 66,243 UGC hats have no live resale listing, so Roblox returns no lowest price for them. RAP still shows for those items, because RAP is built from past sales rather than from current listings.

### Do Limited hats with fewer copies always cost more?

No. Copy count is the strongest single predictor of price among classic hats, but it only works when people want the item. The median UGC Limited hat has 25 copies and a RAP of 119 R$, while the median classic hat has 1,227 copies and a RAP of 6,969 R$, so demand decides which scarce hats are genuinely expensive.
