*The Tough Guy Cap is a Roblox Limited hat from December 2012 with 25 copies. Its RAP is 1,325,703 Robux and no copy has a real asking price.*

The Tough Guy Cap is a classic Roblox Limited hat that Roblox published on 13 December 2012 and sold for 1,500 Robux in a fixed run of 25 copies. A Limited is a catalog item with a capped supply that players can resell and trade with each other once the catalog stock is gone. All 25 copies sold and Roblox stopped selling it, and it now carries a RAP (Recent Average Price, Roblox's smoothed average of an item's past sale prices) of 1,325,703 Robux in RBX Invest catalog data as of September 2026. No copy of it has a genuine asking price right now.

**Quick answer:** The [Tough Guy Cap](/item/100425940) is a 25-copy Roblox-made Limited from December 2012 that originally cost 1,500 Robux. Its RAP sits at 1,325,703 R$, and the only listed copy is priced at 7,777,777,777 R$, a number its owner picked to signal the copy is off the market. Traders value it well above its RAP because it almost never sells.

## What is the Tough Guy Cap in Roblox? A 25-copy hat from December 2012

The Tough Guy Cap is a hat Roblox added to its own catalog on 13 December 2012, priced at 1,500 Robux with a stock of 25. Roblox's item data still lists Roblox itself as the creator and the catalog blurb as "He's a real rebel..."

At 1,500 Robux it was not an expensive hat for 2012. Plenty of ordinary catalog hats cost more. What made it matter was the stock number. Roblox chose 25 before release, and once the 25th copy sold, the supply was closed forever. Nobody can mint copy 26.

That single design decision is why a hat that cost 1,500 Robux carries a seven-figure RAP more than a decade later. Traders call the total number of copies ever made a print, and a 25-copy print is about as thin as the classic market gets.

### What does Limited U mean on the Tough Guy Cap?

Roblox's data flags the Tough Guy Cap as limited unique, usually shortened to Limited U. It means the copy count was fixed in advance and every copy got a serial number stamped on it in purchase order, so the 25 copies run from serial 1 to serial 25. A plain Limited works differently: Roblox sells it with no cap, stops selling it at some point, and the supply freezes wherever it happened to land. Our [Limited vs Limited U explainer](/articles/limited-vs-limited-u-roblox) walks through both labels in more detail.

Serials matter to collectors on an item this thin. With 25 copies in existence, serial 1 is a genuinely unique object, and low serials on famous prints usually change hands at a premium over high ones, a pattern we cover in [how Limited serial numbers work](/articles/roblox-limited-serial-numbers-explained).

## Why is the Tough Guy Cap's RAP so much lower than what traders pay?

RAP stands for Recent Average Price, and it is a smoothed average of an item's whole sale history. Every sale moves it one tenth of the way from the old RAP to the new sale price, using the formula New RAP = Old RAP + (Sale Price − Old RAP) / 10. That design works well on items that sell every day. On a 25-copy hat it breaks down.

Consider what happens with ten sales a decade. A single cheap sale in 2019 still has most of its weight in today's number, because only a handful of later sales have had the chance to pull it back. RAP on the Tough Guy Cap is a summary of trades that mostly happened years ago, and the market has moved a long way since. Trader consensus on the hat's street value, meaning the price copies actually change hands at, sits comfortably above the 1,325,703 R$ RAP, and anyone who quotes RAP as the buying price on an item like this will not get a copy.

We go deeper on the mechanics in [what RAP actually measures](/articles/what-is-rap-roblox), and on the general pattern in [why Limited prices sit above RAP](/articles/roblox-limited-price-higher-than-rap).

## Can you buy a Tough Guy Cap right now? Not at any listed price

One copy is listed on the resale market, at 7,777,777,777 Robux. That is roughly 7.8 billion Robux, far beyond anything an account holds. The owner is not selling. Listing a copy at an absurd number is how holders of very thin Limiteds keep the item visible on its catalog page while making clear the price is not real, and we covered the habit in [Limiteds listed for billions](/articles/roblox-limiteds-listed-for-billions).

So the practical route to a Tough Guy Cap is a trade. Roblox's marketplace documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable, so classic Limiteds like this one are the only items the player-to-player trade system handles, and trading needs an active Roblox Plus subscription on both accounts. You would be looking for one of 25 owners, and you would be offering a package they cannot easily assemble themselves.

*This is market commentary, not financial advice. Limiteds are virtual items and prices move fast.*

## How does the Tough Guy Cap compare to Roblox's other ultra-thin Limiteds?

RBX Invest tracks 23 Roblox-made Limiteds with between 2 and 30 copies and a live RAP. Below are the eleven that traders rank highest by consensus street value, together with the copy counts, RAP figures and live lowest listings verified for this article. The order is what experienced traders would actually pay, which is a different order from RAP.

Two things in that table are worth sitting with.

First, RAP and street value disagree violently. Dominus Frigidus has the highest RAP in the group at 28,059,680 R$ and lands third on consensus. Dominus Infernus, on a RAP of 1,973,087 R$, ranks fourth, ahead of Dominus Astra and the Domino Crown, both of which carry RAPs several times larger. Antenna Antlers has the smallest RAP on the list at 145,650 R$ and still ranks eighth, above the Archduke of the Federation on 4,307,413 R$. Every one of those gaps has the same cause: these items sell so rarely that RAP is a record of old trades. If you want the Dominus family side by side with live numbers, the [Dominus collection page](/collections/dominus) keeps it current.

Second, ten of the eleven are listed far above any price a copy has ever fetched, and the eleventh has nothing listed at all. Four of them carry the identical figure of 618,033,988 R$. When four separate owners pick the same number, they are signalling that the copy is off the market. You can see the same behaviour across the top of the [items leaderboard](/items-leaderboard) and the [most expensive Limiteds collection](/collections/most-expensive-limiteds).

The Tough Guy Cap sits eleventh here on a RAP of 1.33 million. Consensus still places it above the [Lady of the Federation](/item/207207782), a 10-copy hat carrying a RAP of 5,950,184 R$, more than four times the Cap's. That is how little RAP settles at this end of the market.

## Is there a Tough Guy series on Roblox? One companion item, no copy cap

![Tough Guy Santa](https://img.rbxinvest.com/item/190786130?size=420)

Roblox published a second Tough Guy hat two years later. Tough Guy Santa arrived on 9 December 2014 at 150 Robux, with the catalog blurb "He's seen it all." Roblox's data flags it as neither Limited nor Limited U, so it has no copy cap, no serial numbers and no RAP. It cannot be traded, because the trade system only handles Limiteds.

That makes the Tough Guy line a family of two with a very lopsided market: one 25-copy Limited worth seven figures, and one ordinary catalog hat that never became a collectible at all. It is a useful reminder that the artwork is rarely what drives a Roblox price. The Tough Guy Cap and Tough Guy Santa came from the same idea at Roblox. One of them has 25 copies.

Dozens of Roblox-made caps and hats sit between those two extremes, and the [classic hats collection](/collections/classic-hats) ranks them all by RAP with live listings.

## Is the Tough Guy Cap a good hold?

The case for it is supply. Twenty-five copies is a number that cannot grow. Across the classic market, copies stranded on dormant or terminated accounts pull the reachable supply below the published count, and there is no way to tell from the outside how many of the 25 are stuck that way. Our guide to [what makes a Limited rare](/articles/what-makes-roblox-limiteds-rare) covers how bans and dead accounts quietly lock copies away.

The case against it is that you cannot get in or out. An item with no genuine ask is an item you cannot buy on demand, and if you ever owned one, you would be selling into the same empty order book. Classic Limited resales carry a 30% marketplace fee, so a seller keeps 70% of the sale price, and a copy bought on the resale market is locked for up to 7 days before it can move again. A trade carries a 2-day hold. None of that matters much on an item that trades twice a year, but it matters to anyone imagining a quick flip.

For most traders the honest answer is that the Tough Guy Cap is worth understanding even though owning one is out of reach. The lesson it teaches transfers to the whole top of the market: on prints this thin, RAP is a historical record and the real price lives in what owners will accept. Our [rarest items breakdown](/articles/rarest-item-in-roblox) covers the tier below 10 copies, where even that stops being true.

Figures in this article come from Roblox's own item and economy data for assets 100425940 and 190786130, Roblox's Marketplace fees and commissions documentation, and RBX Invest catalog data as of 30 September 2026.

## FAQ

### What is the Tough Guy Cap in Roblox?

The Tough Guy Cap is a classic Limited hat that Roblox published on 13 December 2012 for 1,500 Robux, in a fixed run of 25 copies. It sold out, Roblox stopped selling it, and it can now only be obtained from one of its 25 owners.

### How much is the Tough Guy Cap worth?

Its RAP is 1,325,703 Robux in RBX Invest catalog data as of September 2026, and trader consensus puts its street value above that. RAP understates it because the hat sells only a handful of times per decade, so the average is weighted toward old trades.

### How many Tough Guy Caps exist?

Exactly 25. Roblox fixed the stock at 25 before release and the item is flagged Limited U, so the count cannot grow and every copy carries a serial number from 1 to 25.

### Can you buy a Tough Guy Cap on Roblox?

Not at a usable price. One copy is listed at 7,777,777,777 Robux, which is a placeholder that no account could pay. Getting one in practice means trading with an existing owner, which requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on both accounts.

### Why does the Tough Guy Cap have such a high RAP if it only cost 1,500 Robux?

Because the price reflects how few copies exist. RAP tracks what copies have actually sold for, and with only 25 in existence, the few sales that happen occur at seven-figure prices. The 1,500 Robux release price simply set who got in first.

### Is the Tough Guy Cap tradeable?

Yes. It is a Roblox-made classic Limited, and classic Limiteds are the only items the player-to-player trade system handles. Both accounts in the trade need an active Roblox Plus subscription, and a classic Limited received in a trade is held for 2 days before it can move again.

### What is Tough Guy Santa and is it a Limited?

Tough Guy Santa is a separate Roblox hat from 9 December 2014 that cost 150 Robux. Roblox's data flags it as neither Limited nor Limited U, so it has no copy cap, no serial numbers, no RAP, and it cannot be traded.

### Which Roblox Limited has the fewest copies?

Among the items in this article, Lord of the Federation and The Wanwood Crown are the thinnest at 10 copies each. Roblox has published items thinner still, including one-of-one prints, which the rarest items breakdown on this site covers in full.
