There are 2,915 classic Roblox Limiteds and 174,087 UGC Limiteds in the RBX Invest catalog as of September 2, 2026, and only the classic ones can be traded. A Limited is an item Roblox has stopped selling, with a fixed number of copies that players buy and sell to each other. Classic Limiteds are the ones Roblox made itself, going back to 2007. UGC Limiteds are made by community creators, and Roblox's marketplace documentation is blunt about the split that matters most: "At this time, only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable." Everything else changes hands through a resale, paid for in Robux.
Quick answer: Roblox has 2,915 classic Limiteds and 174,087 UGC Limiteds, per RBX Invest catalog data as of September 2, 2026. Those 2,915 classic items are the entire tradeable market. UGC Limiteds outnumber them roughly 60 to 1, but they can only be bought and sold, never swapped in a trade.
| Roblox Limiteds at a glance | |
|---|---|
| Classic (Roblox-made) Limiteds | 2,915 |
| UGC (community-made) Limiteds | 174,087 |
| Tradeable in the Trade system | Classic only |
| Classic items with a copy listed right now | 2,503 |
| UGC creators with at least one Limited | 20,207 |
| Classic Limiteds with under 100 copies | 154 |

How many Roblox Limiteds can you trade? Only the 2,915 classic ones
Trading and reselling are two different things, and the difference decides which of those numbers matters to you.
A trade is a swap. You offer items, the other player offers items, nobody has to sell anything for Robux. That system only accepts classic Limiteds, so your entire trading pool is 2,915 items. Both accounts also need an active subscription, either Roblox Premium or Roblox Plus, before a trade can go through.
A resale is a purchase. You list a copy at a price, somebody buys it, Roblox takes its cut and the rest lands in your account. That works for both kinds of Limited, and the buyer needs no subscription at all. The seller does.
The money splits are different too. On a UGC Limited resale, Roblox's marketplace documentation puts 50% with the reseller, 10% with the original creator, 10% with the seller or affiliate, and 30% with Roblox, so you keep half of whatever you sell for. A classic Limited resale carries a 30% marketplace fee, leaving the seller 70%. That is why a classic flip breaks even at about 1.43 times what you paid, and a UGC flip needs a full 2x.
If you are deciding which market to spend your time in, reselling vs trading Roblox Limiteds works through both sides with real numbers, and classic Limiteds vs UGC Limiteds covers the rest of the differences.
What kinds of items are the classic Limiteds? Mostly hats
Roblox spent its first decade making hats, and the catalog still shows it.
| Item type | Classic Limiteds |
|---|---|
| Hats | 1,703 |
| Gear | 403 |
| Face accessories | 197 |
| Faces | 147 |
| Back accessories | 142 |
| Neck accessories | 121 |
| Shoulder accessories | 74 |
| Hair | 54 |
| Everything else | 74 |
Hats are 58% of the tradeable market on their own. Gear, which means usable items like swords and instruments rather than cosmetics, is the second-largest group at 403. You can screen each of these groups on the site: classic hats, classic gear, classic faces, and classic face accessories are all live-ranked collection pages, and the full collections hub lists the rest.
That 147-face group deserves a warning. Roblox replaced classic 2D face Limiteds with animated versions during a migration that finished in March 2026, and face values fell hard afterwards. We covered what happened in why Roblox face values crashed in 2026.
When were the classic Limiteds made? Most came out between 2009 and 2016
Grouping the 2,915 by the year Roblox first published the item:
- 2007 to 2008: 99 items
- 2009 to 2012: 1,319 items
- 2013 to 2016: 964 items
- 2017 to 2020: 318 items
- 2021 to 2026: 215 items
Almost 8 in 10 classic Limiteds come from the 2009 to 2016 stretch. That was the era of Limited U drops, which sold a fixed run and stamped a serial number on every copy, plus holiday gift boxes and contest prizes, and it is where nearly every famous item you have heard of was born.
One catch worth knowing before you quote those numbers anywhere. The year above is when Roblox first published the item, not when it became tradeable. Plenty of hats sat off-sale, pulled from sale but not yet tradeable, for a decade before Roblox converted them into Limiteds, so a 2009 hat can be a 2026 arrival on the trading market. Offsale Roblox items going Limited explains how that conversion works.
Is Roblox still making classic Limiteds? Yes, a few batches a year
The 2,915 is not a frozen number. Roblox published new classic Limiteds in September and October 2025 and again in March 2026, and the new ones look nothing like the old ones.
RAP means Recent Average Price, Roblox's smoothed average of an item's sale prices. It moves only one tenth of the way toward each new sale, so it lags the real market. The lowest ask is the cheapest copy listed for sale right now.
| Item | Copies | RAP (R$) | Lowest ask (R$) | Published |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 107,688 | 4,941 | 5,000 | Mar 2026 | |
| 27,288 | 507 | 536 | Sep 2025 | |
| 13,811 | 17,212 | 17,000 | Oct 2025 | |
| 10,078 | 1,473 | 1,500 | Oct 2025 |
Compare those copy counts to the old gems, the scarce high-value items collectors hold for years. A 2011 Dominus sold 27 copies. The Lord of the Buxeration sold 107,688. Modern classic Limiteds are made in volume, which keeps their prices flat and close to RAP, and it means a new release is rarely the scarce thing people assume it is.
How many Roblox Limiteds are actually rare? 154 have under 100 copies
Of the 2,540 classic Limiteds where we have a reliable copy count, supply breaks down like this. Copies means how many exist in total across every player's inventory.
| Copies in existence | Classic Limiteds |
|---|---|
| Under 100 | 154 |
| 100 to 999 | 947 |
| 1,000 to 9,999 | 993 |
| 10,000 or more | 446 |
The other 375 have no copy count reported in our data, so treat the table as covering the 2,540 that do.
154 items sit under 100 copies. Those are the gem tier that serious collectors hold for years, and you can see them ranked on the rarest Limiteds collection or the under 100 copies collection. At the far end of that range are one-of-ones. Roblox minted 20 single-copy tablets during its 2012 iPad launch, and their story is in the ROBLOX Tablet series.
The full spread of the classic market, from a single copy to millions:
| Item | Copies | RAP (R$) | Lowest ask (R$) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4,000,000 | none listed | |
| 27 | 28,059,680 | 618,033,988 | |
| 648,594 | 3,985 | 4,347 | |
| 4,525,695 | 304 | 300 |
The Dominus Frigidus row shows a habit you will run into constantly. Its only listing is 618,033,988 Robux, which nobody will ever pay. Owners of thin items park a joke price on their copy so it stays listed without actually being for sale. Read a number like that as "not selling", not as a price. Trader consensus puts the Frigidus well above its RAP, and the few owners who have one are not hunting for buyers.
How many UGC Limiteds are there? 174,087, from 20,207 creators
The community side of the market is a different scale entirely. UGC Limiteds launched in April 2023, and the count by publish year runs 23,292 in 2023, 40,111 in 2024, 46,784 in 2025, and 63,847 so far in 2026. A few dozen carry earlier dates, because the date is when the item was first published rather than when it became a Limited.
24,255 of them still have copies in stock, meaning you can buy them from the creator at the original price instead of from a reseller. That list changes hourly and lives on the UGC Limiteds in stock collection.
Now the part that surprises people. 123,022 UGC Limiteds have under 100 copies, about 800 times the 154 sub-100-copy items in the classic market. Scarcity is free when anyone can publish a 25-copy accessory. What is not free is demand, and almost none of those items have any. Low copies plus nobody who wants it equals an item you cannot sell at any price.
If you are hunting the UGC side, the creators leaderboard shows which creators have a track record of items that hold value, and the items leaderboard lets you sort the whole market by RAP, copies and growth.
How much does it cost to own a Roblox Limited? 267 have an ask under 1,000 R$
Of the 2,503 classic Limiteds with a copy currently listed, this is what the cheapest listing looks like:
| Lowest ask | Classic Limiteds |
|---|---|
| Under 1,000 R$ | 267 |
| 1,000 to 9,999 R$ | 1,009 |
| 10,000 to 99,999 R$ | 688 |
| 100,000 to 999,999 R$ | 283 |
| 1,000,000 R$ and up | 256 |
The market is far cheaper at the bottom than headlines about million-Robux hats suggest. Roughly half of all listed classic Limiteds ask under 10,000 Robux. The cheapest tradeable items are old event giveaways with enormous supply:
| Item | Copies | RAP (R$) | Lowest ask (R$) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4,395,926 | 278 | 280 | |
| 1,938,160 | 268 | 300 | |
| 781,668 | 288 | 330 | |
| 622,977 | 315 | 337 |
For about 300 Robux you can own a tradeable classic Limited today. It will not go up much, because there are millions of copies and no scarcity to price. What it does buy you is a real position in the trade system, which is a fine way to learn how offers and counter-offers work before you risk anything expensive. Cheap price bands are grouped on the under 1,000 Robux collection and the under 500 Robux collection, and listings that drop below RAP show up in the Deals feed, which needs a signed-in account.
Two costs to plan for before you buy anything with a flip in mind. The 30% marketplace fee on a classic resale means a 5,000 Robux hat has to reach about 7,150 Robux before you have made a single Robux. And every Limited has a holding period, a stretch of days after you get it when you cannot resell it, which is 7 days after a resale purchase and 2 days after a trade for classic items. Roblox Limited holding periods has the full set.
None of this is financial advice. Limited prices move on demand that can vanish, thin items can sit unsold for months, and RAP is a lagging average rather than a promise of what you will get.
Copy counts, RAP, lowest asks and every count in this article come from RBX Invest catalog data as of September 2, 2026; the UGC resale split and the tradeability rule come from Roblox's marketplace fees and commissions documentation, checked on September 2, 2026.
FAQ
How many Roblox Limiteds are there in total?
2,915 classic Limiteds and 174,087 UGC Limiteds, per RBX Invest catalog data as of September 2, 2026. The two numbers move at very different speeds: Roblox adds a handful of classic Limiteds a year, while community creators published 63,847 UGC Limiteds in 2026 through September 2 alone.
How many Roblox Limiteds can actually be traded?
2,915, which is every classic Limited and no UGC Limited. Roblox's marketplace documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable. UGC Limiteds can only be bought and sold for Robux, and trading also requires an active Roblox Premium or Roblox Plus subscription on both accounts.
What is the rarest Roblox Limited?
By copy count, the rarest classic Limiteds are one-of-ones, including the 20 single-copy ROBLOX Tablets Roblox minted in late 2012. Beyond those, 154 classic Limiteds exist in fewer than 100 copies. Rarity by itself does not set price, though: 123,022 UGC Limiteds also have under 100 copies and most are worth almost nothing.
How much does the cheapest Roblox Limited cost?
Around 300 Robux. Old event giveaways with millions of copies, such as the Cake Topper and the Teapot Egg, list in the 280 to 340 Robux range. 267 classic Limiteds currently have a lowest ask under 1,000 Robux, so the entry price to owning a tradeable item is much lower than most players expect.
What type of item are most Roblox Limiteds?
Hats, at 1,703 of the 2,915 classic Limiteds. Gear comes second at 403, followed by face accessories at 197 and faces at 147. Roblox spent its first decade releasing hats almost exclusively, and that history still shapes what the tradeable market looks like today.
Does Roblox still release new classic Limiteds?
Yes. Roblox published new classic Limiteds in September and October 2025 and again in March 2026, including the Helsworn Valkyrie and the Lord of the Buxeration. The difference is supply: modern releases sell tens or hundreds of thousands of copies, where the famous 2010s items often sold under 300.
Why do some Limiteds have no copy count?
375 of the 2,915 classic Limiteds have no reliable copy count in our data, usually because Roblox does not report a stock figure for them. Every supply breakdown in this article covers the 2,540 items that do have one, which is why those buckets add up to less than the full catalog.
How many people make UGC Limiteds?
20,207 distinct creators have at least one UGC Limited in the RBX Invest catalog as of September 2026. A small share of them account for most of the items that hold value, which is why checking a creator's history before buying into a launch matters more on the UGC side than on the classic side.
