Where the Sk8r series started
Roblox published the first hat, Sk8r Boi, on September 21, 2009, for 65 Robux. The name and its catalog description nod to Avril Lavigne's 2002 single "Sk8er Boi," a reference that shows up again nine days later when Roblox released L8r Sk8r (a "later, skater" pun) on September 30, 2009, for 80 Robux, alongside Sk9r Boi at 139 Robux the same day. Neither Sk8r Boi nor L8r Sk8r ever converted to a Limited; L8r Sk8r went fully offsale on January 16, 2017, and Sk8r Boi has been offsale for years as well. Sk9r Boi took a different path, sitting on sale for almost four years before Roblox converted it to a tradeable Limited on May 27, 2013.
The family's oddest member arrived next. On January 12, 2010, Roblox created The Bribe on the same skater cap mesh as the rest of the line and gave it away to players who had already bought a completely unrelated hat, Evil Vizer, to push more people toward buying that item too. Its name and distribution skip the numbered joke pattern, but the shared mesh is exactly why it belongs to the Sk8r family, and its market history has made it the family's most valuable member by a wide margin.
The numbering gag kept going through 2011. Sk10r Boi arrived March 11, briefly at 7 Robux before settling into a permanent 70 Robux catalog slot from May 24, 2013; it's still purchasable today, never Limited. Later that year, on November 25, 2011, Roblox shipped Sk11r, dropping "Boi" entirely, with a catalog description that read simply "Yeah - we seriously called this sk11r." It launched at 7 Robux on a stock of 3,000 and went Limited immediately.
A Builders Club-exclusive spinoff, Gray Sk8r Beanie, followed on May 9, 2012, for 45 Robux; it's still on sale today and was never Limited. Sk12r Boi came next on December 23, 2013: 7 Robux, 10,000-copy stock, Limited from day one. Roblox then released two more items in 2014: SkAmericatr on June 27 (still purchasable today, never Limited) and Sk13r on November 23, a hot-pink recolor of the original Sk8r Boi with lighter blonde hair, sold on a one-day timer for 7 Robux. Sk13r sold 18,183 copies and never converted to a Limited.
2015 brought two more entries: Sk8r Grl on May 20 (the series' one gender-flipped entry, 7 Robux, 10,000-copy stock, Limited from launch) and 8-Bit Sk8r Boi on July 7, an 8-bit recolor of Sk12r Boi sold on a timer for 8 Robux, never Limited.
The line then went quiet for nearly a decade before three rapid-fire revivals brought it into the present. Upd8d Sk8r arrived May 26, 2024, as a 199 Robux promotional item for a Classic Event (it was formerly titled "Sk8rbx Boi") and later went offsale without converting to a Limited. Sk14r followed on September 8, 2025, as a 200 Robux promotional item for The Takeover event, converting to a Limited the next day. Most recently, Sk67r launched June 6, 2026, as a free item obtainable only by gifting another player exactly 67 Robux through the Roblox Plus send-Robux feature, timed to the internet's "6/7" meme moment; it hasn't gone Limited.

Why does The Bribe lead the family?
Supply is most of the story, but the identity of the leader is the surprise. The Bribe isn't a numbered pun: Roblox built it on the same cap mesh as the rest of the family and handed it out to buyers of an unrelated hat, Evil Vizer, in January 2010 to help that item sell through. The shared mesh is what puts it in the Sk8r series, name and distribution method aside. With only 917 copies left in circulation, thinner than every numbered Limited except Sk11r, it commands a RAP more than five times higher than Sk11r and roughly forty times Sk12r Boi's.
Among the actual numbered jokes, Sk11r's logic holds: it launched with just 3,000 copies against Sk12r Boi and Sk8r Grl's 10,000-plus each, Sk14r's roughly 27,300, and Sk9r Boi's 121,601 (inflated by years of regular-catalog sales before its 2013 conversion). Every numbered Sk8r hat launched for 7 to 200 Robux, so none of that gap comes from original cost. It comes entirely from how many copies collectors are competing over, and in The Bribe's case, from an accident of promotional history that happened to leave very few copies behind.
The modern UGC Sk8r tribute wave
Since UGC Limiteds launched in April 2023, independent creators have released a run of "Sk8r"-branded UGC Limiteds that lean on the original series' nostalgia without being part of Roblox's own catalog history: recolors, a "Classic Hood," a baseball cap, and even a skateboard accessory. Notice the gap between RAP and ask on Catch the Sk8r and Petrolume Sk8r. RAP sits under 700 on both, but the lowest live ask is 20 to over 100 times higher. That's not a pricing error. With five to ten copies total, a single old sale can anchor RAP for months while remaining holders simply refuse to list anywhere near it. Sk8r vs. the Skater hat trick series
