Swordpack Series History: Roblox's Sword Back Limiteds

The Swordpack series is Roblox's line of sword back accessories. Twelve are Limiteds; see every one's copies, RAP and lowest ask today.

The Swordpack series is Roblox's line of sword back accessories, the items that strap a bundle of blades across your avatar's back. Roblox has published more than two dozen of them since the original Swordpack hit the catalog on December 19, 2009, and 12 of them are Limiteds, meaning items with a fixed supply that players can resell and trade. The family spans a huge price range: the scarcest member, the 323-copy Vault Swordpack, carries a RAP of 60,063 R$, while the most common one trades under 300 R$.

Quick answer: Twelve Swordpacks are Limiteds. The Vault Swordpack is the most valuable at a 60,063 R$ RAP across 323 copies, the 2009 original sits near 1,300 R$ on 131,918 copies, and nine more Swordpacks are still ordinary catalog items you can buy today for 140 to 600 Robux.

A quick vocabulary pass, because the rest of this leans on it. RAP stands for Recent Average Price, the smoothed average Roblox publishes on every Limited using its whole sale history. Copies is how many were ever minted, and the lowest ask is the cheapest copy listed for sale right now. A back accessory is the avatar slot that holds capes, wings and swordpacks.

What is a Roblox Swordpack? A back accessory that carries blades

Swordpack

A Swordpack is a back accessory shaped like a sheaf of swords. It is cosmetic, so it sits on your character and does what every avatar item does: it makes you look like somebody who owns a small armory.

The original is simply called Swordpack, and Roblox published it on December 19, 2009. Its catalog description is a throwaway in-joke from Roblox staff, which tells you how casual the item was at the time. Today it is sold out, 131,918 copies were minted, and our catalog data shows 137,467 players have favorited it. RAP sits at 1,333 R$ with the cheapest listed copy at 1,547 R$.

Roblox followed it two years later to the day with the Deluxe Ninja Swordpack on December 19, 2011, another six-figure mint at 102,980 copies. Those two are the backbone of the line, and they are why most traders file Swordpacks under cheap, easy-to-find items.

That reputation is only half right.

Which Swordpacks are Limited, and what are they worth?

Here are all 12 Limited Swordpacks, ordered by RAP, with copy counts and the cheapest copy listed at the time of writing. Every figure below comes from RBX Invest catalog data cross-checked against Roblox's own item details on October 22, 2026.

Ultimate Competition Laser Swordpack Apr 27, 2015 204,956 297 R$ 290 R$

Two things stand out. The asks sit close to the RAPs, usually within about 15%, which means these items trade often enough that the two numbers agree. On thin gem-tier items, the kind with a few hundred copies and almost no sales, RAP can drift far below what holders actually accept. The Swordpack line mostly avoids that problem, and the Vault Swordpack is the one member where the ask runs clearly above RAP.

The other thing: four members carry almost all the money, and they are the four scarcest. Everything minted above 8,000 copies sits under 1,900 R$.

The newest member, the Petrolume Swordpack, launched at 4,000 Robux in March 2025 and now trades near 1,215 R$, so a fresh Roblox drop is no guarantee of a gain.

Two of the cheap ones have fun origins. The Springtime Swordpack came out of a mystery box called the Pastel Basket of Danger in April 2014, according to its own catalog description, and we cover that whole format in our guide to Roblox mystery gift boxes. The Ultimate Competition Laser Swordpack was free, and its description credits a game called Hex, which is how 204,956 copies ended up being minted.

Why is the Vault Swordpack worth 45 times the 2009 original?

Vault Swordpack

Supply, almost entirely. The Vault Swordpack sold during The Hunt: First Edition in March 2024 at 36,000 Robux and stopped at 323 copies. That is about 1/400th of the 2009 original's mint, and it trades at roughly 45 times the price.

Scarcity alone does not guarantee this, though. The Vault Commando came from the same event at 40,000 Robux, sold 1,849 copies, and now sits at a 7,037 R$ RAP with copies asking 6,900 R$. Buyers who paid launch price are down heavily. The Swordpack from that event is the only Vault item trading above what it cost, and our Vault series history walks through the rest of the set.

Nearly six times the supply, about one eighth the price. That ratio is the most useful lesson the family teaches.

Does a serial number change what a Swordpack is worth?

The Frozen Swordpack Crown of the Northern Tundra is the odd one out and the second most valuable member. It is a hat, the only one among the Limited members. Roblox sold it at 500 Robux in December 2015 and published it as a Limited U.

Limited U, short for Limited Unique, means every copy carries a serial number, so your copy might be stamped #7 of 1,003. Low serials, especially single digits, can sell for more than an ordinary copy of the same item because some collectors will pay for the stamp. If you want the full picture there, read our explainer on Roblox Limited serial numbers.

The crown also shows that Roblox treated Swordpack as a theme that could land in any avatar slot. There is a Magic Rainbow Swordpack Crown too, still sitting in the catalog at 500 Robux as a regular item.

What do you actually keep when you resell a Swordpack?

Run the numbers before you buy anything in this family. Roblox charges a 30% marketplace fee when you resell a classic Limited, so you keep 70% of the sale price and you need the price to rise about 1.43 times before you break even.

Worked example with round numbers. Say you buy the 8-Bit SwordPack near its current 9,590 R$ ask and later sell it for 12,000 R$. You keep 8,400 R$ after the fee, so you lose about 1,200 R$ on a sale that looked like a 2,400 R$ gain. To get your money back you need roughly 13,700 R$.

Two more rules worth knowing. Buy a copy on resale and you wait 7 days before you can list it again, and a classic Limited received in a trade is locked for 2 days. Reselling also requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account, though anyone can buy. Our reselling versus trading breakdown covers the full math.

None of this is financial advice. Robux spent on avatar items is spent, and prices in this family have moved in both directions.

Which Swordpacks can you still buy at catalog price?

Nine Swordpacks are still regular catalog items, on sale right now at their listed prices. They are not Limiteds, so you cannot resell them, but they are the cheapest way into the look.

Item Catalog date Price
Dark Age Ninja Swordpack Sep 28, 2011 200 R$
Classic Swordpack Throwback Feb 14, 2013 150 R$
Recycled Cardboard Swordpack Apr 17, 2015 140 R$
LightAge Pirate Swordpack Nov 14, 2015 200 R$
Magic Rainbow Swordpack Crown Mar 10, 2016 500 R$
Plunger Swordpack May 21, 2016 150 R$
Stealthy Ninja Swordpack Nov 16, 2017 150 R$
Periastron Swordpack Nov 21, 2017 250 R$
Orinthian Swordpack Aug 23, 2018 600 R$

A few others are off sale without ever becoming Limiteds, including the Wanwood Swordpack from Christmas Eve 2013, the Pizza Swordpack, and a Chainsmokers tie-in from 2022. The strangest entry is the Showdown Swordpack, which appeared in April 2026 carrying a 100,000 Robux price tag and is not on sale today.

That history matters to a trader, because Roblox has a habit of capping an old always-on-sale item and flipping it to Limited, which is exactly how six-figure copy counts happen in the first place. We explain the mechanic in offsale Roblox items going Limited. Nobody can predict which item gets picked, so treat a 150 R$ Swordpack as a cheap avatar item that carries a lottery ticket.

Where does the Swordpack line sit in 2026?

The family splits cleanly in two. Four Limiteds hold the value, and the other eight live between 290 and 1,900 R$, where they behave like floor items that move on avatar demand rather than collector demand.

For a first purchase, the cheap end is honest. A copy of the 2009 original at around 1,500 R$ gets you a genuine 2009 Limited, one of the oldest items any beginner can afford, and the market is liquid enough that selling it back is realistic. The mid tier, the Bombastic and 8-Bit packs, asks for real money and depends on those recolor lines keeping their fans. Our histories of the 8-Bit series and the Bombastic series are worth reading before you commit there.

The Vault Swordpack sits in another price class entirely. At 66,900 R$ it competes with much more famous items, and its entire case rests on 323 copies and event provenance.

If you want to watch this family, the swords collection and the classic back accessory collection rank live, and the Deals feed, which needs a signed-in account, flags copies listed below their usual level.

FAQ

What is a Swordpack in Roblox?

A Swordpack is a back accessory that puts a bundle of swords on your avatar's back. Roblox has published more than two dozen of them since December 2009, including 12 Limiteds that players resell and nine that are still on sale at catalog prices between 140 and 600 Robux.

How many Swordpacks are Limiteds?

Twelve. They are the Vault Swordpack, Frozen Swordpack Crown of the Northern Tundra, 8-Bit SwordPack, Bombastic Swordpack, America's Swordpack, Deluxe Ninja Swordpack, the original Swordpack, Petrolume Swordpack, Icicles Swordpack, Springtime Swordpack, Frozen Swordpack and Ultimate Competition Laser Swordpack.

What is the most valuable Swordpack?

The Vault Swordpack, with a RAP of 60,063 R$ and the cheapest listed copy at 66,900 R$ on October 22, 2026. It sold during The Hunt: First Edition in March 2024 at 36,000 Robux and stopped at 323 copies, the smallest mint in the family.

How much is the original 2009 Swordpack worth?

About 1,300 R$. Its RAP is 1,333 R$ and the cheapest copy listed is 1,547 R$. With 131,918 copies minted it is one of the easiest 2009 Limiteds to buy, which is why the price stays low despite the age.

Which Swordpack has the most copies?

The Ultimate Competition Laser Swordpack, at 204,956 copies. It was given out in a game called Hex in 2015 according to its catalog description, and it is also the cheapest Limited in the family at a 297 R$ RAP.

Can you still buy a Swordpack from Roblox?

Yes, nine of them. Prices run from 140 Robux for the Recycled Cardboard Swordpack to 600 Robux for the Orinthian Swordpack. Those nine are regular catalog items, so you cannot resell them, and only the 12 Limited Swordpacks trade on the resale market.

Are Swordpacks a good first Limited to buy?

The cheap ones are a reasonable starting point. The 2009 original at roughly 1,500 R$ is an old, liquid Limited that sells again without much trouble. Remember that Roblox takes 30% of any classic Limited resale, so a copy has to rise about 1.43 times in price before you break even.

Why is the Frozen Swordpack Crown a hat?

Roblox built Swordpack sets around a theme that could span avatar slots, so the Frozen set included a crown as well as a back accessory. The crown is also a Limited U, meaning every one of its 1,003 copies carries its own serial number, and it is the second most valuable member of the family at a 15,249 R$ RAP.
