You can transfer a Roblox Limited to another account you own, but only if it is a Classic Limited, the kind Roblox made itself. Both accounts need an active Roblox Plus subscription, you send the item through the normal player-to-player Trade system, and the item is locked from resale for up to 2 days after it lands. UGC Limiteds, the ones community creators publish, cannot make the trip at all: Roblox's marketplace documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable, so a UGC Limited stays on the account that bought it unless you sell it on the Marketplace and buy it back.
Quick answer: Classic Limiteds move between your accounts through a trade, which needs Roblox Plus on both sides and carries a 2-day resale lock. UGC Limiteds cannot be traded, so the only way to move one is selling it and rebuying it, which costs you half the sale price.
| Route | Works for | What it costs | Wait before you can resell |
|---|---|---|---|
| Player-to-player trade | Classic Limiteds | Nothing, beyond Roblox Plus on both accounts | Up to 2 days |
| Sell on Marketplace, rebuy on the other account | Classic Limiteds | 30% of the sale price | Up to 7 days |
| Sell on Marketplace, rebuy on the other account | UGC Limiteds | 50% of the sale price | Up to 7 days |
Can you transfer Roblox Limiteds to another account? Yes, through a trade
Yes, for Classic Limiteds. A Classic Limited is an item Roblox itself published with a fixed number of copies, like the Classic ROBLOX Fedora or the Valkyrie Helm. Those are the only items the Trade system accepts, and a trade is just a swap: you offer items from one account, the other account offers items back, and both sides accept.
Trading with yourself works the same way as trading with a stranger. Log in on account A, open account B's profile, choose Trade Items from the menu, put the Limited on your side, and put nothing (or something small) on theirs. Then log in on account B and accept.
Three things have to be true first:
- Both accounts need an active Roblox Plus subscription. Roblox's creator documentation lists trading and reselling Limiteds as a Plus benefit, and it applies to both halves of a trade. One subscription does not cover two accounts.
- Both accounts need trading turned on. That lives in Account Settings, under the privacy and content restrictions section, where a "Who can trade with me" setting controls who is allowed to send you an offer. If it is set to No One on either side, the trade never appears.
- Trading is restricted for accounts based in South Korea. If either account is in that region, this route is closed.
The trade itself is free. Roblox takes no cut of items swapped in a trade, which is what makes this route so much cheaper than the alternative.
Can you trade UGC Limiteds on Roblox? No, so they stay where they are
UGC Limiteds cannot be traded. Roblox's marketplace documentation is blunt about it: "At this time, only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable." A UGC Limited is an item a community creator published with a capped quantity, and it changes hands only through Marketplace resales, where one player lists it for Robux and another buys it.
That single rule decides most of this question. If the item you want to move is a UGC Limited, there is no trade window that will accept it, no workaround setting, and no amount of Roblox Plus that unlocks it. Your options are to leave it where it is or to sell it and buy it back on the other account, and that second option is expensive.
What does it cost to sell an item and rebuy it on your other account?
This is the fallback route, and the fee depends on which kind of Limited you are moving.
For a Classic Limited, reselling carries a 30% marketplace fee, so you keep 70% of whatever it sells for. For a UGC Limited, the split verified against Roblox's fees and commissions page is 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox. The reseller keeps half.
On a 100,000 Robux item, with round numbers, the math looks like this:
| You are moving | You list it at | You receive | Your other account pays | Robux lost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic Limited | 100,000 R$ | 70,000 R$ | 100,000 R$ | 30,000 R$ |
| UGC Limited | 100,000 R$ | 50,000 R$ | 100,000 R$ | 50,000 R$ |
Moving a UGC Limited this way burns half its value. On a 100,000 Robux item that is 50,000 Robux gone, for an item you already owned. Most collectors decide the item can just live on the account it is on.
There is a second problem with this route, and it is the one people get burned by. The moment you list the item, the listing is open to every buyer on Roblox. If the item is popular, or if your price sits below the current floor, meaning the lowest price anyone else is asking, a sniper takes it in seconds. Snipers are traders who watch for underpriced listings and buy them the instant they appear, and RBX Invest's own deal feed exists because those listings get spotted fast. Price it at or slightly above the lowest existing ask if you actually want your second account to win the race.
How long is the holding period after you move a Limited?
A holding period is a timer that blocks Marketplace listings for a set number of days. You can still wear the item during it, and you can still trade it onward. The current durations come from Roblox's July 2023 holding period update:
| How the item arrived | Holding period before resale |
|---|---|
| Received in a player-to-player trade | Up to 2 days |
| Bought on the resale market | Up to 7 days |
| Bought at launch, straight from the creator | Up to 30 days |
So if you trade a Classic Limited to your other account and want to flip it immediately, you wait up to 2 days. If you sold and rebought it instead, the wait is up to 7. Roblox's marketplace documentation describes the post-purchase lock as "up to a 30 day holding period," which is the launch-purchase ceiling; the shorter windows for resales and trades came in with that 2023 update. Our full breakdown lives in the Roblox Limited holding periods guide.
Can you add Robux to the trade to even it out?
You can, and there are limits worth knowing. Robux included in a trade is taxed at 30%, and the amount you can add is capped at 50% of the offered items' value after that fee. Put simply, a 300 Robux item lets you add at most 150 Robux post-fee on the other side.
For moving items between your own accounts you usually do not need this, since you control both sides and nobody has to be made whole. It matters more when you are topping up a real trade with a stranger. The mechanics are covered in adding Robux to a Roblox trade.
Which of your items can actually move?
Check the item type before you plan anything. Classic Limiteds move by trade. UGC Limiteds move only by resale. Four real examples from the RBX Invest catalog follow, with copy counts and RAP as of September 2026. Copies means the total number of that item Roblox ever minted. RAP stands for Recent Average Price, an average of an item's sale history that Roblox smooths after every sale, so it lags the live market on thinly traded items.
| Item | Type | Copies | RAP | Can it move by trade? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic Limited | 10,647 | 376,453 R$ | Yes | |
| Classic Limited | 12,523 | 238,619 R$ | Yes | |
| UGC Limited | 99 | 272,770 R$ | No | |
| UGC Limited | 49 | 61,025 R$ | No |
The Banana carries a RAP of 272,770 R$ across 99 copies, and the Classic ROBLOX Fedora carries 376,453 R$ across 10,647. Copy count and movability are separate questions. If you want to browse by family before you decide what to consolidate, the collections hub sorts the catalog by category, price band, and rarity, and pages like classic hats and fedoras are all Classic Limiteds by definition.
What should you actually do with a split inventory?
Consolidating onto one account has a real benefit: your whole portfolio shows up in one place, which makes valuing it and tracking it much easier. You can see what that looks like on the items leaderboard and on any player portfolio.
Some practical guidance:
- Move Classic Limiteds first. They are free to move. A trade costs you nothing but the Plus subscription you already need for trading.
- Leave UGC Limiteds alone unless you have a reason. Losing half an item's value to relocate it is rarely worth it. If you were planning to sell the item anyway, that is different, because then the fee was coming regardless.
- Do not move an item you are about to flip. The resale lock resets on arrival. If an item is priced well right now, sell it from the account it is already on.
- Watch the trade window carefully. Confirm the item, the serial number if you care about serials, and the account name before you accept. Serial numbers are the ownership stamp Classic Limiteds carry, and a low serial can matter to buyers.
- Keep both accounts secure. Anything that can receive a Limited can lose one. Our trading scams guide covers the patterns worth knowing.
None of this is financial advice. Limited prices move, sometimes sharply, and an item you consolidate today can be worth less next month.

FAQ
Can you transfer Roblox Limiteds to another account?
Yes, if the item is a Classic Limited. You send it through the player-to-player Trade system, which requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on both accounts and trading enabled in both accounts' privacy settings. UGC Limiteds cannot be transferred this way because they are not tradeable.
Can you trade UGC Limiteds on Roblox?
No. Roblox's marketplace documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable. UGC Limiteds change hands exclusively through Marketplace resales, where one player lists the item for Robux and another buys it.
Does trading a Limited cost Robux?
No. Roblox takes no fee on items swapped in a trade. You do need an active Roblox Plus subscription on both accounts, and if you add Robux to the trade, that Robux is taxed at 30% and capped at 50% of the offered items' value after the fee.
How long until I can sell a Limited I just received in a trade?
Up to 2 days. That holding period starts when the item arrives and only blocks reselling it on the Marketplace. Items bought on the resale market carry up to a 7-day lock instead, and items bought at launch from the creator carry up to 30 days.
How much do I lose selling a Limited and rebuying it on another account?
You lose 30% on a Classic Limited and 50% on a UGC Limited. Roblox's fees and commissions page puts the community-created Limited resale split at 50% to the reseller, 10% to the creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox, so a UGC reseller nets half the sale price.
Can someone else buy my Limited while I am moving it between accounts?
Yes. A Marketplace listing is open to everyone, so any player can buy the item before your second account does. Listing below the current lowest ask makes that far more likely, since underpriced Limiteds get bought within seconds.
Do I need Roblox Plus on both accounts to trade?
Yes. Both sides of a trade need an active Roblox Plus subscription. It is the only subscription that opens trading, reselling, and Marketplace publishing, and a single subscription does not cover a second account you own.
Which regions restrict Roblox trading and reselling?
Trading is restricted for accounts based in South Korea, so a trade involving an account in that region will not go through. Roblox's documentation also notes that reselling community-created Limiteds is unavailable for accounts based in Japan.
