Roblox's first UGC Limiteds went on sale on April 5, 2023, the day Roblox announced Limiteds for its UGC Program, and RBX Invest's catalog counts 537 of them with Roblox asset dates in that first three-day window. A UGC Limited is a community-made item published in a fixed number of copies, which buyers can resell once the creator turns reselling on. Most of that first batch turned out to be cheap: the median RAP (Recent Average Price, Roblox's smoothed average of an item's past sale prices) across the 537 is 712 R$, and only two carry a RAP above 100,000 R$ today. The best known survivor is the Banana, a 99-copy shoulder accessory that launched at 690 R$ and now holds a RAP of 272,770 R$ with its cheapest listed copy asking 300,000 R$.
Quick answer: Roblox's first UGC Limiteds appeared on April 5 and 6, 2023, after the "Announcing Limiteds for the UGC Program" post on the Roblox developer forum. Of the 537 published in the first three days, 21 now carry a RAP of 10,000 R$ or more, 223 sit under 500 R$, and the Banana is the only one with more than one copy and a RAP above 100,000 R$.

What were the first UGC Limiteds on Roblox? 537 items in three days
Roblox posted "Announcing Limiteds for the UGC Program" on the developer forum on April 5, 2023, and said creators in the UGC Program could start publishing Limiteds that day. Creators picked their own quantity, paid an upfront fee to publish, and earned a 10% cut every time their item was resold afterwards.
Our catalog's asset dates line up with that timeline. 86 items carry an April 5 date, 267 carry April 6, and 184 carry April 7. That is 537 items in three days from 260 different accounts and groups. For comparison, our data counts 2,515 classic Limiteds in total, meaning the items Roblox made itself across the platform's whole history.
Hats dominated. 310 of the 537 are hats or head accessories, followed by 61 back accessories and 60 face accessories. Most of the launch class aimed straight at the head slot, which is where classic Limited values had always lived.
Launch prices stayed small. 494 of the 537 have a launch price recorded in our catalog, and the median was 500 R$. Five started at 10,000 R$, the highest figure in the group, and community documentation from that era describes 10,000 R$ as the ceiling a creator could set at the time. The Roblox Wiki still files these items under the nickname "Limited 2.0", which is what traders called them before "UGC Limited" stuck.
How much are the first UGC Limiteds worth now? Median RAP is 712 R$
Here is the launch class ranked by RAP, with copies printed and the cheapest copy currently listed, from RBX Invest catalog data as of October 2026. Copies means the total number ever printed, which traders call the print, and the lowest ask is the cheapest price a reseller currently has the item sitting at.
| Item | Copies | RAP | Lowest ask | Launch price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 777,777 R$ | None listed | 100 R$ | |
| 99 | 272,770 R$ | 300,000 R$ | 690 R$ | |
| 1 | 56,420 R$ | None listed | 95 R$ | |
| 10 | 34,310 R$ | None listed | Not recorded | |
| 1 | 32,500 R$ | 500,000 R$ | Not recorded | |
| 30 | 32,400 R$ | 21,000 R$ | Not recorded | |
| 50 | 26,752 R$ | 9,999,999 R$ | 1,000 R$ | |
| 100 | 21,367 R$ | 5,999 R$ | 5,000 R$ | |
| 30 | 16,670 R$ | 43,000 R$ | Not recorded | |
| 10 | 16,433 R$ | None listed | 5,000 R$ |
Two rows share a name because In_Mael published Really Black 3D Hair twice on April 6, as two separate 30-copy prints with their own asset ids and their own prices. The Aquamarine Crown arrived as The Aquamarine Crown of Stingrays and now reads Mantas in the catalog, so the name on our item page and the name on Roblox can differ for older UGC items.
A few of those asks are for show. The W Chain's cheapest listing at 9,999,999 R$ is a placeholder from an owner who does not want to sell, and a 500,000 R$ ask on a single-copy item works the same way. When an item has one or two copies in existence, the lowest ask tells you what the holder dreams of, and the RAP tells you what somebody once paid.
Why is the Banana the launch class's most valuable multi-copy item?
The Banana works because it is simple, funny, and capped at 99 copies. Preston_Username published it on April 5, 2023 at 690 R$, which put it in reach of ordinary players on day one, and the small print meant every copy that got hoarded took real supply off the market.
Scarcity by itself does not do this. Hundreds of launch-week items printed 100 copies or fewer and went nowhere. The Banana also had a joke everybody understood, an avatar slot people actually wear, and a name traders could say out loud. Three years later it is the only item from the first three days with a RAP above 100,000 R$ and more than one copy in circulation. The joke traveled, too: a one-of-one autographed banana published that October by the trader WhoseTrade carries a RAP of 1,042,069 R$.
Do one-copy launch items really sell for their RAP? Usually not
The highest RAP in the whole launch class belongs to a single-copy waist accessory that started at 100 R$. One sale at 777,777 R$ set that number, and one sale is the entire price history. Nobody has it listed today, so there is no asking price to check it against.
Ten of the 537 items printed exactly one copy, and single-copy items behave nothing like the rest of the market. With one owner there is no floor, meaning no cheapest listing to anchor the price, no sales rhythm, and no way to tell a genuine sale from a favor between friends. We dug into that pattern across the whole catalog in why one-copy UGC Limiteds rarely sell. If you are judging a launch-week item today, items with 25 to 150 copies and a steady trickle of sales give you far more to work with.
Who made the first UGC Limiteds? 260 creators in three days
260 accounts and groups published something in those three days, and almost none of them became household names. The ones that did tended to repeat: Fennecpaw made both the Poofy Tail and the Tail of a Thousand Suns, and Yourius, whose name later turned up on a Monstercat collaboration mask, launched the Golden Godblade at 10,000 R$ on April 5.
That spread is the real story of the launch. Roblox handed the catalog to hundreds of people at once, and the market had to learn which names to trust. You can see where that sorting ended up on the creators leaderboard, which ranks creators by the live value of what they have published.
What did the launch class teach traders about new drops?
The resale math is the first lesson. On a community-created Limited resale, Roblox's marketplace documentation splits the sale 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox. You keep half, so an item has to resell for twice what you paid before you break even. Buy at 500 R$ and you need 1,000 R$ to get your money back.
Hold the launch class to that bar and it looks thin. Of the 494 items with a recorded launch price, 174 (35%) have a RAP at least twice what they started at, and 204 (41%) have a RAP below their launch price. The median item sits at 1.23x its launch price, which is a loss after fees. Those odds line up with our wider look at which UGC creators' drops hold value, where 37% of paid UGC items ever reach twice their launch price, so the first week was fairly ordinary.
The second lesson is about sell-outs. 123 of the 537 still have unsold copies in our catalog three years on, which is 23% of the launch class that never cleared its print run. An item that never sells out has a permanent price ceiling, because buyers can keep paying the creator's original price instead of yours. Our in-stock UGC Limiteds collection and sold-out UGC Limiteds collection split the market along exactly that line, and the Deals feed flags resale listings that drop below where an item has been trading, which needs a signed-in account.
None of this is financial advice. Robux spent on collectibles can lose value, and Limited prices move on taste as much as on supply.
How have UGC Limited rules changed since April 2023?
The core design held. Creators still set their own quantity, still collect 10% when a copy is resold, and community-created Limiteds still cannot be traded, so they change hands only through Marketplace resales. If you want the trade window instead, that is the classic Limited market, which we compare side by side in classic Limiteds vs UGC Limiteds.
Three things are different for anyone buying a fresh drop today:
- Holding periods. Roblox's documentation puts the wait at up to 30 days after you buy a Limited before you can resell it. Buying at launch from the creator sits at that 30-day end, while buying from a reseller clears in about 7 days.
- Roblox Plus. Reselling a Limited needs an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account, which launched on April 30, 2026 at $4.99 USD a month. The buyer of a resale needs nothing.
- Scale. Our catalog now tracks 187,470 UGC Limiteds against 2,515 classic Limiteds. The first year of the program produced 31,134 UGC Limiteds, about 85 a day. The last 30 days produced 10,800, about 360 a day.
Roblox's own documentation also notes that reselling community-created Limiteds is unavailable for accounts based in Japan, which is worth knowing before you plan a flip.

FAQ
When did the first UGC Limiteds come out on Roblox?
Roblox announced Limiteds for the UGC Program on April 5, 2023, and creators could publish them that day. RBX Invest's catalog shows 86 items with an April 5 asset date, 267 on April 6, and 184 on April 7.
What was the first UGC Limited on Roblox?
No single item can be called the first, because dozens were published within hours of the announcement on April 5, 2023. The best known item from that opening day is the Banana, a 99-copy shoulder accessory that launched at 690 R$.
How much is the Banana UGC Limited worth?
The Banana carries a RAP of 272,770 R$ and its cheapest listed copy asks 300,000 R$ as of October 2026. It launched at 690 R$ with 99 copies printed.
Are the first UGC Limiteds worth buying now?
Most are not worth chasing for profit. 223 of the 537 launch-week items have a RAP under 500 R$, and 41% of the ones with a recorded launch price now sit below what they originally cost. The handful with small prints and steady sales are the only ones with a real market.
Can you trade UGC Limiteds from 2023?
No. Community-created Limiteds have never been tradeable, including the April 2023 launch class. They change hands only through Marketplace resales, so every price you see on one comes from a resale listing or a past resale.
How much do you keep when you resell a UGC Limited?
You keep 50% of the sale price. Roblox's marketplace documentation splits a community-created Limited resale 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox, so you need to sell at twice your cost to break even.
Why do some 2023 UGC Limiteds show no price?
Because nobody has a copy listed. When every owner is holding, the item has a RAP from past sales but no lowest ask, which is common on items with ten copies or fewer. Four of the ten highest-RAP launch-week items have no listing at all right now.
How many UGC Limiteds exist today?
RBX Invest tracks 187,470 UGC Limiteds as of October 2026, against 2,515 classic Limiteds. Roughly 10,800 new UGC Limiteds appeared in the last 30 days, so the launch class of 537 is a tiny slice of the market it started.
