Roblox made July 4th Limiteds in ten of the eleven summers from 2009 through 2019, and the priciest one today is American Cowboy, a 2010 contest prize with 186 copies and a RAP of 858,659 R$. A Limited is an item with a closed supply, so once Roblox takes it off sale the only way to get one is from another player. RAP is short for Recent Average Price, Roblox's smoothed average of an item's past sale prices. Roblox has not published an Independence Day Limited since June 2019. Since July 2023 the holiday has belonged to UGC Limiteds, which are community-made items published with a fixed number of copies.
Quick answer: Roblox ran July 4th drops from 2009 to 2019 and more than 20 of those items became Limiteds. The scarce ones, under 500 copies, carry six-figure RAPs. The 5,000-copy ones trade in the low thousands. Nothing Roblox-made has joined the family since Americone the Beautiful in June 2019.

Which Roblox July 4th Limited is worth the most? American Cowboy by RAP, Goldlika: Patriot by street value
American Cowboy was never sold. Its catalog description, still live on Roblox's own item page, reads "Rating prize for the July 4, 2010 Building Contest," which means copies only exist because players entered a contest sixteen years ago. 186 of them exist, nobody can print more, and the single resale listing sits at 9,999,999,999 R$, a placeholder price that no buyer will ever pay. If you want the longer version of how prize hats behave, we wrote up contest prize Limiteds separately.
RAP is a poor guide at this end of the market. It moves one tenth of the way toward each new sale price, so an item that rarely sells keeps a RAP anchored to trades from years ago. Traders price these from the asks they actually see, the lowest price any current seller will take. On that measure Goldlika: Patriot sits above American Cowboy, because only 21 copies were ever made and none are listed at all right now.
| Item | Released | Launch price | Copies | RAP | Lowest ask |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jun 30, 2016 | 25,000 R$ | 21 | 364,568 | None listed | |
| Jun 28, 2010 | Contest prize | 186 | 858,659 | 9,999,999,999 | |
| Jun 28, 2018 | 25,000 R$ | 100 | 176,536 | 1,900,000 | |
| Jul 3, 2009 | 1,776 R$ | 163 | 143,729 | 2,000,000 | |
| Jun 30, 2017 | 10,000 R$ | 455 | 114,267 | 390,000 | |
| Jul 3, 2013 | 10,000 R$ | 405 | 76,598 | 279,998 | |
| Jul 3, 2013 | 1,000 R$ | 1,001 | 83,467 | 94,995 | |
| Jun 27, 2014 | 1,000 R$ | 501 | 40,009 | 100,000 | |
| Jul 1, 2011 | 1,000 R$ | 484 | 14,898 | 20,000 | |
| Jul 3, 2013 | 1,776 R$ | 882 | 14,626 | 19,999 |
That table is ordered by what traders agree these are worth, which is why two rows look out of sequence against their RAPs. Goldlika: Patriot ranks first on 21 copies while carrying less than half of American Cowboy's RAP. American Commando ranks above Red, White, and Shaggy even though Shaggy's RAP is about 7,000 R$ higher, because Commando printed 405 copies against Shaggy's 1,001 and its lowest ask is roughly three times Shaggy's. Both gaps come from the same thing. When sales are rare, RAP sits still while asks keep climbing. You can see the same effect across the top of the items leaderboard.
Washington's Hat has its own deep dive in our Patriot series history, which covers the founding-father hats Roblox released outside the July window too.
When did Roblox make July 4th Limiteds? Every summer from 2009 to 2019, except 2012
The pattern was consistent for a decade. Roblox would push a batch of Americana items into the catalog in the last week of June or the first week of July, most of them ordinary always-on-sale accessories, with one or two sold in a fixed quantity that became Limiteds.
2009 opened with Washington's Hat on July 3, priced at 1,776 R$ and described as "American diety. Read '1776' by David McCullough," typo included. 163 copies. Two days earlier, on Canada Day, Roblox had put out the Canadian Baseball Cap at 25 R$, which still has 6,939 copies and a RAP near 1,159 R$.
2010 was the contest year. Three hats came out of the July 4, 2010 Building Contest: American Cowboy and Gentleman Patriot as rating prizes, and the American Baseball Cap as a voting prize. Gentleman Patriot quotes a 1946 John F. Kennedy Independence Day speech in its description, and it printed 4,525 copies against the Cowboy's 186. Print, meaning the total number of copies ever made, is most of why Gentleman Patriot trades near 1,737 R$ while the Cowboy sits in six figures.
2011 brought AmeriPhones at 500 R$ with 12,268 copies, Starry Eyed Shades at 200 R$, and True Patriot at 1,000 R$ with 484 copies. Three items, three very different supplies, and the prices today line up with the copy counts almost perfectly.
2012 has no July 4th Limited in our catalog data. The Limiteds that week were a dinosaur gear, a forcefield glove and a ray gun.
2013 was the biggest year by volume. July 2 and 3 brought Red, White, and Bow Tie, American Commando at 10,000 R$, Red, White, and Shaggy, Masked Hood of the Patriot at 1,776 R$, and Steam of Columbia. The Bald Eagle gear and Americat the Beautiful had landed on June 28, Americat with a print of 1,777 copies.
2014 leaned on memes. Uncle Doge arrived on June 27 with the description "So liberty. Such freedom. Wow." and 501 copies, and it is now the most valuable item of that year's batch. Coolbraham Lincoln, United States Bow Tie and America's Swordpack all printed in the thousands and trade under 3,000 R$ today.
2015 is the only year the Roblox Wiki documents as a named sale, a 4th of July 2015 event running July 2 to July 6. Most of that wave stayed as ordinary catalog items. American Eagle at 250 R$ with 1,784 copies is the Limited that came out of it.
2016 produced the family's scarcest piece. Goldlika: Patriot launched at 25,000 R$ with 21 copies, alongside American Warrior: White Hot Fury at 300 R$ and Red White and Starface, a face that printed 5,003 copies. Faces across the whole market have fallen hard since Roblox replaced the classic 2D ones, the flat drawn-on faces Roblox itself published, with animated versions, which we covered in the Limited faces decline, and Starface at a 3,029 R$ RAP is part of that story.
2017 gave the family its best-looking piece of back gear. Immortal Sword: American Splendor cost 10,000 R$ at launch, printed 455 copies, and sits in the same series as the rest of our immortal items.
2018 and 2019: the last two
Old Glory Wings closed out the expensive era on June 28, 2018. Roblox sold 100 copies at 25,000 R$, and Roblox's item data lists it as a Limited U, meaning a fixed print where every copy carries a serial number, a number stamped on your specific copy that says how early you bought it. Our guide to Limited versus Limited U explains why that matters for pricing. The lowest ask today is 1,900,000 R$.
Then it stopped. Americone the Beautiful on June 27, 2019 was a traffic cone wearing stars and stripes, 250 R$, 5,388 copies, RAP 2,631 R$. Roblox has not made another one in the seven summers since, which fits the wider slowdown in Roblox-made Limiteds. Roblox-made Limiteds in general have become rare, and the classic hats that drive this market are a closed set now.
Can you still get a July 4th Limited? Yes, but only from other players
Every classic item above, meaning every one Roblox published itself, shows zero copies remaining, so the catalog is closed. You have two routes.
Buying a resale is the simple one. You pay whatever the lowest reseller asks, and the seller keeps 70% of that price while Roblox takes a 30% marketplace fee. Reselling a Limited requires an active Roblox Plus subscription on the seller's account, though the buyer needs nothing. Trading is the other route, and it only works on items like these: Roblox's marketplace documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable. Both sides of a trade need Roblox Plus.
UGC Limiteds work differently and cannot be traded at all. They change hands only through Marketplace resales, and the split is steeper for the person selling: per Roblox's fees documentation, a UGC resale pays 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate, and 30% to Roblox. A reseller nets half the sale price, so breaking even means selling at twice what you paid.
Since 2023 the holiday has been a UGC event. Creators publish patriotic Limiteds in the first days of July, usually in prints of 10 to 100 copies, and most sell out within days.
| Item | Released | Launch price | Copies | RAP | Lowest ask |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jul 2, 2023 | 150 R$ | 40 | 7,965 | 6,999 | |
| Jul 1, 2025 | Not recorded | 25 | 3,487 | 5,888 | |
| Jul 4, 2023 | 500 R$ | 25 | 2,250 | 6,665 | |
| Jul 3, 2023 | 300 R$ | 76 | 2,038 | 38,123 | |
| Jul 4, 2023 | 1,776 R$ | 10 | 1,749 | 1,199 | |
| Jul 4, 2023 | 499 R$ | 85 | 1,646 | 2,000 | |
| Jul 3, 2024 | 85 R$ | 100 | 1,453 | 2,949 | |
| Jul 4, 2024 | Not recorded | 30 | 1,431 | 2,999 |
Two rows in that table are worth a closer look. The Walter 2023 Cap asks 38,123 R$ against a 2,038 R$ RAP, which makes it a projected item: one where the asking price has been pushed far above what the thing actually sells for, usually by a holder who would rather wait than sell cheap. Our projected items guide walks through how to spot them. The American Tub runs the other way, asking 1,199 R$ against a 1,749 R$ RAP, with only 10 copies in existence. Ten-copy prints turn up often enough on our rarest Limiteds page, and the cheap ones do get bought.
The 1,776 R$ joke survived the handover, by the way. Roblox used it on Washington's Hat in 2009 and the Masked Hood in 2013, and in 2023 a creator priced The American Tub at exactly 1,776 R$. Independence Commando's description is just "WHAT THE FLIP IS A KILOMETER" and three eagles, which tells you how much the tone shifted once creators took the holiday over.
What drives prices in this family?
Copy count does most of the work. Every member with a six-figure RAP printed under 500 copies, and every member that printed above 1,500 trades between about 1,200 and 4,200 R$. Launch price is the second signal, because Roblox used 10,000 R$ and 25,000 R$ tags on the pieces it meant as centerpieces, and those are the ones holding value eight to thirteen years later.
Theme works against the family the rest of the year. A hat that reads as one specific holiday in one specific country gets worn for about a week each July, so the buyer pool is smaller than it is for a fedora or a crown, and sales come in bursts. Thin trading is why asks on these sit so far above RAP: a holder with the only listed copy can name a number and wait.
Two things cap the downside. Contest prizes like American Cowboy cannot be reprinted under any circumstances, since the event that produced them is over. And Roblox walking away from the holiday after 2019 means no new official supply competes with the old items, which is the opposite of what UGC creators face each July when a fresh batch of patriotic hats lands.
Is October a good time to buy one?
Off-season is when these are quietest, and quiet markets cut both ways. Spreads get wide. True Patriot's lowest ask sits about 34% above its RAP and the Masked Hood's about 37%, and you can wait a long time for a seller to come down. The flip side is that nobody else is bidding. Our study of Halloween Limiteds in October found they gained 3% to 17% from September to October in each of the last three years as their season arrived, and the broader seasonal patterns of the Roblox economy work the same way. Interest in a themed item shows up when the theme does, and July is when a stars-and-stripes hat has an audience.
If you want one, set a target price well under the current ask and watch for a seller who needs Robux. There is no rush in October. Our Deals feed exists for exactly that kind of watching, and it needs a signed-in account. At the expensive end of this family, remember that a six-figure item with one or two listings is a hard thing to exit quickly. None of this is financial advice, and a Limited is worth what someone will pay for it on the day you want to sell.
All item data in this article (RAP, copies, launch prices, lowest asks, release dates and catalog descriptions) comes from RBX Invest catalog data as of October 2026, cross-checked against Roblox's own item details for American Cowboy, Goldlika: Patriot and Old Glory Wings; fee and trading rules come from Roblox's marketplace documentation at create.roblox.com/docs/marketplace; the 2015 sale dates are documented by the community-maintained Roblox Wiki.
FAQ
What is the most valuable Roblox July 4th Limited?
American Cowboy has the highest RAP in the family at 858,659 R$ across 186 copies. Trader consensus puts Goldlika: Patriot above it, because only 21 copies of that one were ever made and none are currently listed for sale, while American Cowboy has one listing at a placeholder price of 9,999,999,999 R$.
Does Roblox still make July 4th Limiteds?
No. The last Roblox-made Independence Day Limited was Americone the Beautiful, released June 27, 2019 at 250 R$ with 5,388 copies. Since July 2023 the holiday has been covered by UGC Limiteds published by community creators instead.
Why do so many July 4th items cost 1,776 Robux?
1776 is the year of American independence, and Roblox used it as a launch price for Washington's Hat in 2009 and Masked Hood of the Patriot in 2013. A UGC creator repeated the joke in 2023 by pricing The American Tub at 1,776 R$.
Can you trade July 4th Limiteds?
You can trade the classic ones. Roblox's marketplace documentation states that only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable, which covers every item Roblox released between 2009 and 2019. The UGC patriotic Limiteds from 2023 onward cannot be traded and can only be bought and sold through Marketplace resales. Both accounts in a trade need an active Roblox Plus subscription.
How much does Roblox take when you resell one?
On a classic Roblox-made Limited the seller keeps 70% and Roblox takes a 30% marketplace fee. On a UGC Limited the split is harsher: Roblox's fees documentation lists 50% to the reseller, 10% to the original creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate and 30% to Roblox, so a UGC reseller has to sell at double their cost to break even.
Which July 4th Limited is the cheapest way into the family?
The American Tub is the cheapest listed item in the family at 1,199 R$, followed by Patriotic Helm of July at 2,000 R$, both UGC Limiteds from July 2023. Among the Roblox-made classics, AmeriPhones is the cheapest at a 1,172 R$ RAP across 12,268 copies, with the American Baseball Cap at 1,503 R$ and Gentleman Patriot at 1,737 R$ just above it. All three printed in the thousands.
How many July 4th Limiteds did Roblox make?
More than 20 across ten summers, from Washington's Hat on July 3, 2009 to Americone the Beautiful on June 27, 2019. 2012 is the one gap in that run with no patriotic Limited in our catalog data. Most July 4th releases in any given year stayed as ordinary always-on-sale catalog items, and only one or two per year became Limiteds.
Was American Cowboy ever sold in the catalog?
No. Its Roblox item description says it was a rating prize for the July 4, 2010 Building Contest, so the only 186 copies in existence went to contest participants. That is also why its launch price reads as zero.
