Sword Cane Series History: Roblox's 91-Copy Gear

The Sword Cane is a 2010 Roblox gear Limited with 91 copies left, a RAP of 557,485 R$ and a 3,250,000 R$ lowest ask. Twelve UGC sword canes followed.

The Sword Cane is a melee gear Limited that Roblox published on April 17, 2010 for 1,500 Robux (written R$), and 91 copies of it still exist. A Limited is an item Roblox has stopped selling that has a fixed number of copies, so the only way to get one now is to buy it from another player. The Sword Cane carries a RAP of 557,485 R$, the cheapest copy listed for resale right now asks 3,250,000 R$, and the three resales RBX Invest has recorded since January 2023 all cleared between 1,000,000 and 1,500,000 R$. Everything else in the family came later: two retextures handed out with Roblox toys in 2017, a Walmart gift-card katana in 2011, and twelve community-made sword canes starting in September 2023, five of which exist in a single copy each.

Quick answer: The Sword Cane is a Roblox-made gear Limited from April 2010 with 91 copies left, a RAP of 557,485 R$ and a lowest resale listing of 3,250,000 R$. RAP (Recent Average Price) is Roblox's smoothed average of an item's past sales, and on a market this thin it lags badly behind what buyers actually pay. Twelve UGC Limited sword canes followed in 2023 and 2025, and the five one-copy versions are the scarcest items in the family.

What is the Sword Cane on Roblox? A 2010 gear Limited with 91 copies

Sword Cane

Gear is equipment. It drops into your backpack, the item bar at the bottom of the screen, when you join an experience whose owner has switched gear on. A hat goes on your avatar and travels everywhere with you; gear only shows up inside those experiences. RBX Invest tracks 317 gear Limiteds, the oldest from 2009 and the newest from 2018, and Roblox has published none since. Creators cannot publish gear at all, which our guide to Roblox gear Limiteds covers in full.

The Sword Cane is a blue walking stick that hides a blade. According to the Roblox Wiki, it slows you to 11 walkspeed instead of the usual 16, deals 18 damage per swing, and makes an old-man grunt on every attack. The joke was the point.

Roblox sold it as a Limited U, which means every copy carries a serial number showing which one it was out of the original stock. Our Limited versus Limited U explainer covers the difference in full. The Roblox Wiki records 100 copies in the original stock, and Roblox's own item data reports 91 today. Copies drop out of the count when the accounts holding them get deleted, which is the usual explanation for a gap like that, and we walk through it in what happens to Limiteds on a banned or deleted account.

Against the rest of the gear market, 91 copies is genuinely scarce. Only 38 of the 317 gear Limiteds we track have 100 copies or fewer, and the median gear Limited carries a RAP of 12,754 R$. Sixteen of them price above the Sword Cane by RAP, so it sits 17th in the category, behind famous blades like Darkheart and Illumina.

Why does the Sword Cane's RAP read 557,485 when it sells for over a million?

Because RAP moves slowly and this item barely sells. Each recorded sale drags RAP one tenth of the way from the old figure toward the new price, so a long gap between sales leaves the number parked wherever it was.

Here are the three resales RBX Invest has on record for the Sword Cane:

Date Sale price
January 7, 2023 1,000,000 R$
August 22, 2023 1,500,000 R$
July 11, 2024 1,450,000 R$

Three sales in nearly four years. Trader consensus puts a Sword Cane's street value far above its RAP, and those sale prices back that up. The 3,250,000 R$ listing is an opening bid on an item nobody has to sell, and the gap between 1.45 million paid and 3.25 million asked is the whole negotiation.

That pattern repeats across every low-copy classic, so when a RAP sits far below the asks on an item with under 100 copies, go looking for the last real sale. The items leaderboard and the rarest Limiteds collection show copy counts beside prices so you can spot thin markets fast, and our guide to RAP walks through the formula.

Every Sword Cane Limited and what it's worth

Thirteen sword canes carry Limited status, which means they can be resold. The table is ordered by trader consensus on value, which for the community canes means RAP, since none of them has an established street value yet. "Copies" is the number in existence, and "lowest ask" is the cheapest copy listed for resale as of October 11, 2026.

Cane Type Copies RAP Lowest ask
Sword Cane Classic gear, 2010 91 557,485 R$ 3,250,000 R$
Serpens Sword Cane UGC, Sep 2023 1 30,000 R$ None listed
Cobaltum Sword Cane UGC, Sep 2023 1 22,222 R$ None listed
Antiquus Sword Cane UGC, Sep 2023 1 10,013 R$ None listed
Ignis Sword Cane UGC, Sep 2023 1 5,900 R$ 618,033,988 R$
Ostrinus Sword Cane UGC, Sep 2023 1 2,983 R$ None listed
Sapphire Sword Cane UGC, Oct 2023 30 1,161 R$ 4,500 R$
Silver Sword Cane UGC, Jul 2025 17 688 R$ None listed
Iron Sword Cane UGC, Jul 2025 17 432 R$ 1,199,997 R$
Onyx Flame Sword Cane UGC, Oct 2023 250 240 R$ 165 R$
Wooden Sword Cane UGC, Sep 2023 20 179 R$ 1,000 R$
Midnight Sword Cane UGC, Oct 2023 549 144 R$ 140 R$
Infernus Sword Cane UGC, Oct 2023 300 138 R$ None listed

Two numbers in that table are jokes. The Ignis Sword Cane is listed at 618,033,988 R$ and the Iron Sword Cane at 1,199,997 R$ against a RAP of 432 R$. Owners of one-copy and low-copy items do this on purpose: the listing exists so the item shows as "for sale" without any real chance of selling. We pulled apart that habit in Roblox Limiteds listed for billions.

The bottom four rows are where the actual trading happens. The Midnight Sword Cane has moved hundreds of copies since 2023 and still sells around 140 R$, one of the cheapest ways to put a cane on your avatar. That price band lives in the cheap Limiteds under 100 R$ collection and its neighbours.

Who made the UGC sword canes? Stack UGC's September 2023 line

Stack UGC

Ten of the twelve community canes come from Stack UGC, a group that published a full sword cane line across September and October 2023, five months after UGC Limiteds launched in April 2023. A UGC Limited is a community-made item sold in a fixed quantity, and these ones change hands only through Marketplace resales.

The line split into two halves. Five canes were paid showpieces minted in one copy each, and RBX Invest's sale history shows their first sales at 33,333 R$ (Serpens), 22,222 R$ (Cobaltum), 11,111 R$ (Antiquus), 3,333 R$ (Ostrinus) and 1,000 R$ (Ignis). The other four went out as free claims, meaning the creator priced them at 0 R$ and let players grab them, and their first few hundred copies register in our sale history at 0 R$. Free claims that later trade are a category of their own, collected on the free Roblox Limiteds page.

The other two canes are newer. Gerifall published the Silver and Iron Sword Canes in July 2025 as waist accessories with 17 copies each, free at launch, and both have resold since in the 1,000 to 2,850 R$ range. Every UGC cane in the family sits in either the UGC Limited back accessories or UGC Limited waist accessories collection.

How one 1 R$ sale moved a RAP from 33,333 to 30,000

Serpens Sword Cane

The Serpens Sword Cane is the cleanest RAP lesson in the whole family, so it is worth doing the arithmetic. One copy exists. It sold at launch for 33,333 R$ on September 11, 2023, which set its RAP at 33,333. A month later, on October 13, it changed hands again for 1 R$.

Run the formula: new RAP = old RAP + (sale price - old RAP) / 10. That gives 33,333 + (1 - 33,333) / 10, which lands on 30,000. Its RAP today is exactly 30,000 R$.

So a one-copy item whose last sale was a single Robux reads as a 30,000 R$ item on every leaderboard, and it will keep reading that way until somebody buys it again. The Antiquus Sword Cane tells the same story with different digits: an 11,111 R$ launch, a 135 R$ resale in January 2025, a RAP of 10,013 today. That is why collectors price one-copy items off the owner's willingness to sell, as our rarest UGC Limiteds write-up gets into.

Are the other sword canes Limiteds? No, three came from toys and gift cards

Three family members never had a fixed stock, so they have no copies to count and no resale market.

The White Sword Cane and the Wanwood Sword Cane both arrived on January 10, 2017, and the Roblox Wiki records both as toy-code items. The white one came with an asimo3089 Roblox toy, and the wanwood one was a chaser code in Series 1, which also makes it part of the Wanwood family we covered in the Wanwood series history. Those codes kept being redeemed, so neither cane has a fixed stock, and an item without one cannot be traded or resold.

The Candy Cane Katana went out on December 1, 2011 to anyone who redeemed a $10 Roblox gift card from Walmart that month, and the Roblox Wiki files it inside the Sword Cane series. Gift-card gear sometimes did ship as a Limited: The Axe of Undoing, another Walmart tie-in, went out in March 2012 with 6,933 copies and still trades at a RAP of 1,425 R$. Our gift card items guide covers which promotional items ended up with a market.

The oldest relative is the Skull Cane, sold for 350 R$ for one month in October 2009 before going off sale. It was never Limited, so it cannot be resold, though the community kept the idea alive: EyeiGroup's Cartoon Skull Cane is a 2,000-copy UGC Limited from 2024 with a RAP of 166 R$ and a 399 R$ ask.

Can you still buy a Sword Cane, and what does selling one cost?

You can buy any of the thirteen Limiteds above from resellers, and you need no subscription to do it. Selling is where the rules kick in.

To resell or trade a Limited you need an active Roblox Plus subscription, which costs $4.99 a month. Trading also requires Roblox Plus on both sides, and only Roblox-created Limiteds can be traded at all. Roblox's Marketplace documentation states that plainly, so the Sword Cane can move through a trade while every UGC cane in the table can only be bought and resold.

A holding period is the window after a purchase when Roblox blocks you from reselling the item, and the fee math differs by item type:

Classic Sword Cane UGC sword canes
Seller keeps 70% of the sale price 50% of the sale price
Break-even resale About 1.43x what you paid 2x what you paid
Hold after a resale purchase Up to 7 days Up to 7 days
Hold after buying at launch Not applicable Up to 30 days
Hold after a trade 2 days No trading

Those splits come from Roblox's marketplace fees and commissions documentation, which sets a community-made resale at 50% to the reseller, 10% to the creator, 10% to the seller or affiliate and 30% to Roblox. A classic resale leaves the seller 70%. Run the numbers before you list: a 3,250,000 R$ sale on the Sword Cane pays its seller 2,275,000 R$, and a 140 R$ Midnight Sword Cane sale pays 70 R$. Our marketplace fees breakdown and the holding periods guide have the rest.

Collector's outlook: what drives the Sword Cane premium

The original has three things working for it: a 2010 release date from the era collectors care most about, a gear slot Roblox will never publish into again, and 91 copies across a platform this size. The weak spot is liquidity. With barely a sale a year, you are buying something you may wait months to sell, and the bid you eventually get could land well under the ask you were looking at.

The community canes are a different trade entirely. The four free-claim canes are cheap avatar items with real sales volume and almost no upside. The two Gerifall canes are quiet 17-copy items with seven recorded resales between them. The five one-copy showpieces are collector trophies whose prices move with one owner's mood, and nothing in the group has shown sustained appreciation since 2023.

For the look, the 140 R$ end of the table does the job. For the one piece of this family collectors chase, it is the 2010 original, and you should expect a negotiation instead of a clean click-to-buy. The Deals feed, which needs a signed-in account, flags below-RAP listings across the market, and the reseller tools price what you already own.

None of this is financial advice. Limiteds are virtual collectibles, prices move on demand that can vanish, and you should never spend Robux you would miss.

Prices, copy counts, RAP and sale history in this article come from RBX Invest catalog data and Roblox's item details API as of October 11, 2026; the fee, trading and holding-period rules come from Roblox's Marketplace documentation checked the same day; and the release dates, toy-code details and item descriptions come from the community-maintained Roblox Wiki entry for the Sword Cane and its Sword Cane series page.

FAQ

How much is a Sword Cane worth on Roblox?

The Sword Cane's RAP is 557,485 R$ and the cheapest copy listed for resale asks 3,250,000 R$, but its last three recorded sales landed between 1,000,000 and 1,500,000 R$, most recently 1,450,000 R$ in July 2024. Somewhere between one and one and a half million Robux is the realistic figure for a buyer today.

How many Sword Canes are left?

  1. Roblox's item data reports 91 copies in existence, while the Roblox Wiki records 100 in the original 2010 stock. Copies leave the count permanently when the accounts holding them are deleted.

Why is the Sword Cane's RAP lower than what it sells for?

Because RAP only moves one tenth of the way toward each new sale price, and the Sword Cane has sold three times since January 2023. A RAP that old describes the market from years ago, which is why low-copy classics so often show asks several times above RAP.

Can you trade a Sword Cane?

Yes. It was created by Roblox, and Roblox's Marketplace documentation says only Roblox-created Limiteds are tradeable. Both players need an active Roblox Plus subscription, and a classic Limited received in a trade is locked for 2 days before you can move it again.

Can you still use the Sword Cane in a Roblox game?

Yes, in any experience whose owner has allowed gear. Gear equips from your backpack once you join, and most experiences keep gear switched off, so you will rarely see it in play.

Are the UGC sword canes worth buying?

For the look, yes: the Midnight and Onyx Flame canes trade in the 140 to 220 R$ range with steady sales. As an investment they have shown no sustained growth since 2023, and the one-copy versions are priced entirely by their single owner, including a 618,033,988 R$ listing that exists to be ignored.

What is the rarest sword cane?

Five of them tie at one copy each: Serpens, Cobaltum, Antiquus, Ignis and Ostrinus, all published by Stack UGC in September 2023. Among items with a working market, the 91-copy classic Sword Cane is the scarce one that collectors actually pursue.

How much do you keep when you sell a sword cane?

70% on the classic Sword Cane and 50% on any of the community-made canes, per Roblox's marketplace fees documentation. That makes break-even 1.43x your cost on the classic and a full 2x on a UGC cane, and you need an active Roblox Plus subscription on your account to list either one.
