How Limited Items turn into Robux.

You have seen Limited Items around. This is how the money side works: one flip from start to finish, the costs that catch beginners, and the three steps to your first sale.

How does one flip work, start to finish?

A creator releases a hat: 1,000 copies at 100 R$ each. You buy one. The run sells out within the week, and players who missed it start buying from resellers. A month later the cheapest copy listed is 310 R$. You list yours at 300 R$ and it sells. The seller keeps half of a UGC resale, so 150 R$ reaches you, which is 50 R$ more than you paid.

Then you do it again, with 150 R$ this time. Buy, sell and put the profit back in: that is the whole loop, and the three steps at the end of this page take you through each part.

What does a flip cost you?

Three things come out of every flip, and all three are easy to forget on launch day.

Half the sale: On a UGC Limited Item the seller keeps 50% of the price. Your break-even is twice what you paid, before any profit.

A wait: A copy you buy is held for up to 30 days before Roblox lets you resell it. The price can move a long way in that time.

A subscription: Listing an item for resale needs Roblox Plus on your account, at $4.99 a month. Buying needs nothing.

Should you start with UGC or Classic Limited Items?

Start with UGC Limited Items, the ones made by community creators. New ones are released every day at low prices, some at 0 R$, so a mistake costs little.

Classic Limited Items are the ones Roblox made itself. Sellers keep 70% on those, and they can be traded item for item, but most cost thousands of Robux. They are what you save toward once the small flips are working.

Which mistakes cost beginners the most?

Four of them account for most first losses.

Buying what never sells out: While the creator still has copies at the launch price, nobody needs yours for more.

Forgetting the fee: Selling a 100 R$ item for 150 R$ feels like profit. You keep 75 R$, which is a 25 R$ loss.

Buying an item with resale switched off: Some Limited Items can never be resold. The New UGC Limiteds page hides them unless you untick Resellable only.

Trusting a listing price: Anyone can list at any price. RAP only moves on real sales, so read that first.

Where does RBX Invest come in?

Roblox shows you one item at a time. RBX Invest puts the whole market on one screen: every Limited Item ranked by price, sales and growth, a score for each new UGC release, each creator’s track record, and your own collection valued in one place once you connect your account.
